So I was totally pumped for the game tonight, . .
only to realize that tonight is my companies day at the JAYS game.
I swear if they get all 3 points or I miss something special I will not be able to live with myself. .

BMO - NORB free tonight. </sadness>

“It was a setback last year, Year Four should have seen results,” Anselmi said.

For the first time in a long time, I'm actually looking forward to a TFC match.

I'm also feeling quite positive about a proper scouting structure being put in place. That was the biggest factor in DC's long string of trophies. It says something about Mo Johnston that he had 4 years to get that in place, but apart from some very minor steps, did nothing. Barry MacLean was not a substitute for a proper scouting staff, neither was having Tim Regan as a one-man scout for Ontario talent.

    Morning,

Is FC Dallas media really this clueless? A video that was posted yesterday still shows Gordon, Tchani in the line-up and none of the new signings... I'm sure their coaches know better, but this game preview is from their perspective...

Seriously pumped for this match. Best starting 11 ever will hit the pitch tonight! Not sure about DeGuz's injury status, but could see this as the starting 11 (if Viator is ready to go although it may be a little premature for him).

According to the pre-game show last night, from what I recall it was:

Yeah, I had a feeling that JDG's knee isn't ready to go yet and if the Viator deal gets announced, it's probably too early to have him start. I really want to see Harden out of the line up...

They spent almost no money on infrastructure, didn't bring in high-priced management, didn't get grass until they sold a player to pay for it, didn't hire scouts, didn't spend on a DP for years and still sold out every game and came within one point of making the playoffs.

To upper management that's a successful expansion franchise. The fact it was all luck, there was no plan to build on it and the guy in charge spent last-off season saying he screwed up and apologizing and now he says he was "distracted" and he's still in charge is actually pretty funny.

Sure he fucked up with us but with MLSE hes been a success and can really only become more successful in their eyes if TFC starts to do well

Every time Anselmi talks I keep thinking back to Richard Peddie during the Babcock era of the Raptors.

    Its cringeworthy.

    Not bad, actually.

I actually get the sense he is impressed by Winter. Since Cathal's usual schtick is to criticize and ridicule everyone... it's quite unusual.

The playoffs — those damned playoffs — were brushed aside as an ‘if you wish upon a star’ proposition. Winter went so far as to concede that he has viewed the entire season thus far as an extended training camp designed to weed out the weaklings he inherited. There were a lot of them.
This explains why he didn't try out different tactics in order to win some games now. Forcing the system shows who can play it. Tough for the fans in the short-term, though.

What's better, the line-up starting tonight?

Or the days of Guevara, Roberts, DeRo, Ricketts, Wynne, Dichio, Edu, Robinson?

Don't think I've been as pumped for tonight as I have been in a very long time! I'm not expecting us to go out there and dominate, although 3 points would be very nice.

But it's definitely a breath of fresh air tonight. For all the hype on this board like 13 year old boys wanting that new video game, tonight is actually something to look forward to.

DUNFIELD. bask in these awesome quotes. . embrace the positivity RPBS!

If I could have chosen to go anywhere, I would have picked here,” Dunfield said, adding he thinks the club is on the right track.
“I don’t think we’re a million miles away, a couple of results and this city can be rocking.”
Dunfield scored for Canada at BMO Field in a recent friendly and celebrated wildly with the fans.
He is hoping for more of the same.
“It was an incredible moment and I can’t wait to throw a TFC jersey on and show what I can do,” he said.

No, I wouldn't expect him to he fired, he plays the boardroom game far too well. The firings will always be below that level.

But they've done the next best thing, they've taken him out of the mix, so that's good. Let's hope he stays "distracted."
