If this trade rumor is accurate, it must be the precursor to another acquisition, considering the lack of depth of on the backline.

This move makes TOTAL sense. Always deal from strength and depth. I mean...look at our defensive power! Oh...

And this addresses our CB needs how exactly? Sad to see Gordon gone if true, but yeah, he's of no use if he's injured all the time.

Nana just confirmed it to J-Mo, so it's true.

I'd imagine they have something else in the works regarding a CB....the additional space + intl spot does open possibilities a bit.

Although, doesn't Johnson count as an int'l?

Maybe TFC already has a CB lined up to sign, but needed to get rid some players and get an International slot & money in return first?

If we get enough $$$, we can pay down the cap hit, sign a DP-quality defender, and have it all come in under the cap.

I wonder if we got enough money?

I think this is a decent trade, freeing up some cap space, adding a decent attacking threat and getting another international spot. It will only be a decent trade if we use the cap space wisely!

theres more to this trade than just this, CB is a must and surely the FO won't just ignore this..then again we are TFC

If we were trying to a Canadian player from Whitecaps, it should be Teibert.

Dunfield is not in Vancouvers plans anymore as he seems to be playing a bench role. I like getting him here.....but now we have a million holding mids...lol

Ryan Johnson reminds me of a faster taller stronger Chad Barret from what I have seen, he has effortless speed and like Chad also an ability to blow chances repeatedly..... Plata - Kovermans - Johnson? We will have some speed and pressure on the outside thats for sure

    That's what I was thinking.

Like I said, Kevin Hatchi, the L'Impact castoff, is a Frenchman. That's an international slot and Molinaro insists he's coming to Toronto tomorrow, despite Mariner's denial.

If we somehow dump JDG today, I will be ECSTATIC.

This is a good day so far in terms of overhauling the squad.

I wonder if all this is a precurser to JDG being dumped / shipped out. Why on earth would we bring in a net +1 mid yet -1 defenders?

Dunfield is not bad, more consistent than Tchani, or Yourassowsky

International spot.. come on.. get a good defender

Wow, im not mad at either of these trades.
If Gordon wasnt injured as often as he is, id say they might be getting a better deal but Id say right now we are doing ok.
Id also venture we definitely have some more defenders on their way if we are currently making deals for more mids/forwards

Maybe but most likely Sturgis...JDG is still a very tricky guy to ship

I don't think anyone outside of the SG's is going to recognize any of the starting 10 players against Dallas.
