    i doubt it; he's been in the US for a long time.

    i'd be surprised if he doesn't have his green card.

    I knew that.

    But apparently it goes back all the way to the days of Plato and Socrates.

    How it reached the streets of LA is what I'm curious to know.

    Loving these trades. in the end we get 2 players who are good enough to play for their respective countries for 3 bench players with money in the end. Mariner working his magic.

    No. his wiki reads as him having moved to the US as an infant.

    As I said earlier in the season, the players that TFC release will be just as intriguing as who they bring in.

    Peterson = no brainer
    Gordon = unfortunate, but necessary as he is always injured.
    Nana = I hope we don't regret it down the road.

    Toronto sure, but not Vancouver where it's other way around. Their fans seem pissed about that as well.

    Yes, as it should. But it will not more than double to $142.5K. And he's domestic. There's no room for argument there, that having Peterson off and Dunfield on our roster is a net positive, all other things being equal.

    Anyone have any idea what the jump is going to be? I know the league is always hush hush about this stuff but someone always seems to have some idea.

    Aren't American's counted as domestic at this point?

    respect.

    It couldn't have been easy playing for the host of the MLS cup and coming from the winner of that MLS cup.

    The only significant long term loss will be Nana, but it appeared that he wasn't going to sign a contract extension. Rather than letting Nana walk for nothing as a free agent, at least Mariner was proactive in packaging Nana with the oft injured Gordon and Peterson to acquire Ryan Johnson (who can play as a starting winger and as a backup CF), along with a coveted international slot which will likely be used to secure a talented CB. Dunfield didn't cost any significant assets, and he will provide considerable depth in the midfield.

    Overall, I like the moves thus far, and I'm anxious to see how the rest of the dominoes fall.
