If Johnson is match fit why wouldn't you start him over Plata? I have a feeling it looks like this:

    ----------------Frei-------------------

    Gargan---Harden-----Iro-------Borman

    ------Sturgis----Yourassowsky--------

    ----------------Frings-----------------

    Soolsma--------------------------Johnson

    -------------Koevermans--------------

    Subs: Plata, Martina, Zavarise

With Plata coming in at 60 pushing johnson over to the middle taking off the Koev.

Bah to injuries. Neither Dunfield nor JDG were listed as "out" by TFC. I think it depends entirely on where they see Frings fitting in, and whether we are going to play point back or point forward. The last little while they've played point back, so I assume they'd do the same. I also think Frings is going to be the destroyer in front of the back four, so we might see something like:

    ----------------Frei-------------------

    Gargan---Harden-----Iro-------Borman

    ----------------Frings-----------------

    ------Soolsma----Yourassowsky--------

    Martina--------------------------Johnson

    -------------Koevermans--------------

Unless of course Plata is starting, then you might see him where Yourassowsky is listed, with Yourass slotting in at LB.

I do not see Soolsma playing CM at all.
I think theyd play Zavarise there before Soolsma

Yeah, that could also work, but Plata has played exceptionally well at home. I like him as a starter.

I love the little fella but he's only useful in the open field. He's completely useless in any set pieces...and lets be honest our sets have sucked big donkey balls all year.

With frings taking the kick I'd think we'd want to fill the box with big bodies now. Iro, Johnson (cause he's quick and athletic), Harden, Koev and Soolsma are some taller than average kids. Might actually allow us to get the occasional goal from the set.

    ^that'll do

especially with point backward like you have it there.

with point forward I would shift Frings up and keep Deguz and Sturgis back

They don't play it as a point back, they play it as a 4-2-1-2-1, with the hole player as the top of the diamond. IF we only left Sturgis in front of the back line we'd be in even more trouble.

It's not really that black and white, it's not asif the 3 CM's will stay like that all game..I'd imagine all 3 of them will be getting back to defend while only 1 will sit when were in attack.

My French is not very good, but this French Radio Canada reporter wrote that we are going to make a major announcement tomorrow? Can some one translate this:

    FLordSRC Frederic Lord

Le Toronto FC fera "une annonce majeure" demain, mercredi à Toronto #MLS #TFC

Can someone try to find out if this is true? Maybe Molinaro or someone else knows something.

Shock! Horror! JDG decides he can be called up just in time for the new midfield competition to start playing. A little too convenient.

My prediction? We'll beat Dallas 2-1 and I'll claim wildly to have never said TFC aren't playoff-capable. Then hypocritically say 'I told you so' when we go on a good run of form.

My guess is that its to announce that the Academy is adding U-13 and U-15 teams. As well as the creation of a dedicated scouting staff. I think Molinaro did break this story.

Good on the club for implementing these initiatives.

Well ... as long as par was being chronically out of position and making your flank a super-highway for the other team to launch crosses from while you stand 20 feet off the attacker, i agree.

The "major announcement" is a false roomer started on Twitter. Someone innattentive found a link of a major announcement on TFC website from like 2 weeks ago- where they announced Frings and Koevermans and started selling it as Tomorrow, everyone followed suite. Sometimes our pack animal senses don't help us out...

So relax- the big thing this week, up until now, is the Academy expansion and Sturgis being shopped around.

We are playing a well organized team, one of the best in the league. It could be ugly, putting 4-5 new players out there. The only player I expect to look comfortable is Iro, just because I think CB has the simplest job on the pitch.

This is the most excited I've been for a TFC game in a while. So many new faces, and the debuts of our two new DPs - it's hard not to have your interest piqued.
