    Default Stephe Makinwa

Not sure if anyone has reported this, however Italy's Gazzetta Dello Sport is speculating Canada as a possible destination for Lazio's Stephen Makinwa. I understand that Canada could mean either TFC or Vnacouver, however given TFC's current goal scoring record I wouldn't be surprised if they have reached out to him.

Plus, Winter played for Lazio before, so he might had a hand in this potential signing.

Very low scoring record-We need scoring help, but will he score here. We need proven goal scorers.

"Both Makinwa and his national team mate Obafemi Martins, are known for celebrating goals by making several consecutive somersaults."

As much as I love somersaults, 5 goals in the past 6 years?! In 73 appearances? Yikes. Thanks but no thanks. Edmonton's in Canada too

My understanding is that makinwa is a target man striker.
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

He's Nigerian and his age is listed as 27, so he's probably 42 and too old to do a somersault without breaking a hip!

    He'd tear this league up.
"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports

LMFAO.... So true! I've watched him play in many games for Lazio and was never impressed. He may have been good for a half-chance every two games. The only reason Lazio keeps loaning him out is because they just can't get rid of him.

Sounds exactly what TFC FO traditionally looks for in DP.

Interesting... well if they are turning away players then they better have something big up their sleeve.

Turning away players is a good thing, if they don't think they can improve the team.

    OH. GOD. NO.
seriously though, can the mods swing some sort of telepathic software that allows the boards to insta-ban anyone who actually says this and isn't just saying it as a joke?

    having said that: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/articl...-move-mls-club

"fell through" are the words that stuck out. something tells me that he wanted more than he was offered, and the club refused to budge. if that's the case, good on em!!
