“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Does it really matter who he plays at this point? There’s no system, no forward progress or momentum, and no distinct resolution.
At this point you just play out the games and hope that the franchise’s fortune turns before it’s fans do.
If I was winter I would make making the CONCAF CL my first priority, so yes, I would not mind fielding my depth players, give them a needed run.
Mid week games on either end, altitude, mls cup champs... uh oh.
I never encourage throwing in the towel for a fixture on a later date but...
The NCC Final should definitely be the priority. JDG is suspended, and Tchani and Peterson are doubtful due to injury. Assuming Gordon, Yourassowsky, and Zavarise are still injured as well, I'd go with this...
---------------Frei---------------
Eckersley--Williams--Cann--Borman
Gold---------Cordon--------Sturgis
Martina------Santos----Stevanovic
I wonder if Martina is injured too. He didn't make the bench yesterday.
Is Borman back?
Waste of time talking about this chaps -- world is ending on Saturday.
Just sayin
Rocky Mountian High?
Not likely with this band on the run.
KD.
Hold for a draw, counter attack as necessary, conserve energy (playing at altitude).
I'd be happy with a bus parking nil-nil draw.
Another weekend, another spanking.
I will forever love the club, but I've lost all faith. At this stage, I think we're lucky if we beat Vancouver at home next Wednesday and make the CCL preliminary qualifying round.
I'd like to see the depth players, but winter doesn't seem to do that, so I think there'll be a few changes.
I hope Cann get a rest though at least, his last couple of games have been weaker than usual, and he's been playing very game even since his rib injury.
Also would like to see martina and stevanovic get starts, see how they do to try and get their spots back.
I just wish GolTV and Rogers would get their online tv guide straight. It's not like this is a newly announced game and Sunday night is currently showing a Bundesliga game.
as a coach you go out to win every game.colorado are in as bad shape as us, so go for the win and confound reality.any team in this league can be beatenon any given day.
even if you don't mean it like i'm going to take it, i'm still going to step out and say that i've seen a lot of this around the boards and it is wrong.
like, it's completely, indefensibly wrong.
the goal of a coach is to manage his squad with the intent of maximizing the amount of points he has at the end of the season, and to acquire trophies. that's it. it is not to go full blast at every single game regardless of context.
if he sacrifices our national goddamn championship, as tin pot or mickey mouse or whatever dumb thing you want to call it as it may be, for even the rarest of all jewels, The Away Win, then he simply doesn't get it.
again, we have our first home cup final 3 days after this game, and we're in the drivers seat by the slimmest of margins. you can judge winter on acquisitions, formations, tactics, substitutions, or the cut of his suit during post-game interviews, but i'm going to judge him on his attitude towards the match on wednesday and the cup that is ours, and that should stay ours in perpetuity.
Looks like no Plata. He got called up by Ecuador (senior team) and is expected in Guayaquil on Sunday.

Will be going with a pair local TFC fans who were in Toronto last Nov tomorrow night. Loving the Rockies so far. 2 hrs drive from Denver.
Love it. 100% right.
This match and the next will go a long way as far as my evaluation of Winter is concerned. I'm not overly concerned with the XI he puts out against Colorado, I'm sure he's well aware of the guys that are fit enough to go 90 on Sunday and 90 on Wednesday back to back. So long as our Wednesday lineup is stronger than our Sunday lineup.
I expect Winter to know the next match is more important than this one and I expect to see a more attacking, aggressive XI on Wednesday. If Winter meets my expectations on Wednesday, I'm prepared to give him my vote of confidence.
ended up being a pretty good day for TFC.
the 3 East vs West games all ended up with West coming away winners. And one of the two East vs East games was a draw, the other being Philly over Chicago which isn't all that bad either if you ask me.
team GP's are starting to even out but we're not losing any ground really.
Sporting RPB scarf alone in DenverN getting heckled. Lol
Not expecting a result tonight, so a loss won't hurt my feelings. I hope we play a B squad and save the players for the Wednesday match.
It seems like eventually we have to win on the road even by accident. Why not tonight?
TFC 1 - 0
Colorado keeper slips on a banana peel and kicks the ball in his own net.
