    Default Horror tackle

....in the RSL v Chivas game just now. Chivas already down to 10 men from Boyens red, and Ned Zemanski cuts Javier Morales down from behind, and the replay it looks like he breaks his ankle quite badly. Not Moises Alou bad, but the angle was rather ......sharp, let's put it that way.

Not for the squeamish on the replays tonight.

see video of it there. terrible tackle, not as much force as mullan on zakuani, but form behind, not even trying to win the ball.

he'll get a long suspension for that.

For tackles like this player should be suspended until injured player is healthy and ready to play, even if it takes 1 year.

Agreed, MLS really needs to nail these guys will the full force of the law.

They seem to have absolutely no regard for the people they are playing against. Hacked him down with no chance to get the ball.

Edit: How Boyens got away with a yellow on the first challenge i'll never know. Pure red card in every way possible...

Zakuani and now Morales. Two of the more exciting players in the league gone for extended periods of time due to reckless play. MLS has to take a hard line stance to protect it's top level talent.

I think we are at a stage where we have some real talent disparities within the league and some of the guys that have gotten by on size and athleticism are throwing out some frustration tackles at the new skill type players that are popping up around the league.
Let's face it Mullan and Zemanski are not really at the level of Zakuani and Morales.
Hopefully as the league talent level continues to rise we'll see the old school type player phased out and less of this sort of thing will happen.
