yeah it was too bad RSL lost, but they did they very well throughout. Had a lot of chances early on to put it away and didn't. It's too bad that one of their top players played awful over the two legs (Saborio or however you spell it). They almost had it at the end as well, two chances in the injury time.

Good game though. They are definitely the class of the league. When LA and NY are playing on form, the three of them are very good.

    love the ssg today.

It's unfortunate how many people aren't going to be as interested in the Club Championship with that result last night. We're getting closer though..

Gra performance and partnership from Eckers and Plata last night.
Flash gordon needsa banner. . . . we got HIM for Labrocca? deal of the year no DOUBT! was a good performance.
Santos, even at half speed, and showing NO respect for his opponents waltzed through for a near man-of-the-match performance. . . . his cockiness annyoing, his results fantastic.

Congrats to RSL, I was rooting for them, honestly. . only DC UNITED have ever broken through to the club championship. . . .

ps. . it may be weird, but Im rooting for L'IMPACT. . I hope its US that give them the swift kick out of concacaf. . . and NOT VCWC. . . . score needs to be settled wioth them too. . . .

When DC won, there wasn't the club championship, so their only reward was the CONCACAF silverware (which wasn't worth as much at the time, because the Mexican teams have only taken this competition seriously since the time it provided a berth to the WCC).

LA won in 2000, and would have been at the WCC, except the competition was canceled that year due to the collapse of it's major sponsor.

RSL is the first club that had a real chance to play in the WCC. One goal for them would have done it. That yellow card accumulation probably was the deciding factor.

I feel the same. The only chance we'll have at whipping mtl this year is if they take that second leg. we'll see the caps again regardless.

I want revenge against the Whitecaps for the opening day debacle, but we will face them again at BMO Field regardless in the regular season.

I would definitely prefer to see a Toronto-Montreal NCC Final.

    Default newspaper coverage

just came back from gettting a coffee and i am a bit disappointed in the lack of tfc coverage in todays national post, globe, sun, and star. i just dont get it. not even a "Mason dos Santos Correa" (as commonwealth stadiums announcer said his name last night) picture.

I'm glad with Winter's response. He said he was not satisfied with how the boys played, but he was satisfied with the result. I'm glad that he's looking for more improvement from the boys.

its unfortunate that L'Impact went head to head against the Canadiens-Bruins match last night. Surely someone at the CSA should've known this and switched locations?

A win is a win for our side, even with the score being 3-0. Edmonton's got a huge hole to climb next week. I do wish Montreal had won on their home pitch, as I want to See TFC take them on and slap them around in the finals.

And that SSG is smokin'! Anyone notice a bit of camel toe in pic 11?

We will most likely get that opportunity, and if that happens, Vancouver will be facing a much different TFC squad than the one they embarassed on opening day. Since then, DeRo and Labrocca have departed, and JDG (due to injury), Gordon, Stevanovic, Tchani, Borman, Eckersley, and Williams have been added to the roster.

yeah tbh I thought we looked weak for the first bit. FCE actually had some decent chances, really close balls that Frei might not have been able to take care off.

We def got stronger as the game rolled on, but I wonder how it would have played out if they'd kept 11 on the pitch. Sure we didn't start JDG, but still, didn't look easy enough until they went down.

In the end we got the sweet away result, and tht's what counts I guess.

    How?
NCC games were scheduled about or so back, while playoff matches weren't known til about 3 weeks ago - let alone a game 7.

RSL vs Monterrey: "Real" Salt Lake were given the easy route to the finals. On merit I'm glad they lost.

TFC vs. FC Edmonton: I was not impressed with that performance. DeRosario, would have hogged the ball and maybe scored twice, but the lack of motivation on the team was evident. There's noone on the team that has a poacher attitude, they all seem like they're more worried about staying in formation and maintaining possesion. It's almost like the team plays a counter-attacking football in the opponents side of the field as well as on their own side of the field.

very unfortunate but i dont think they had game 7 of playoffs in mind when they made the schedule... i think it was unfortunate that the edmonton game was so early people were still at work there during that game... maybe they moved it because they wanted people to watch the rsl game on goltv at 10? or are they are trying to be like other leagues (ie seria a) where in the final few weeks in a tight race they all play at the same time or cl games which are all at the same time? the tfc schedule that magnetic one they give out at the first home game said 11 pm for last nights game.

Gordon, Stevanovic, Martina, ... all great picks
Gordon... I am surprised that LA, Portland or Chivas did not try to keep him.
