it's upon referees discretion on cautioning a celebration.

Discretion should never be in the laws of any game. Officiating is hard enough as it is when its black/white. We need to take as much power out of the officials as possible.

You cannot blame the player whatsoever. The big problem in the MLS officiating is CONSISTENCY. With no consistency how can a play know what he can and cannot do. Like someone said, a few weeks back Gordon did that against Chivas, no card. Now for the identical "play" its a bookable offense. MLS need to sort itself out in terms of officiating if they ever want to be taken seriously.

My personal take on this "discretion" rule of booking a player for leaving the field of play is a judgement of time wasting. The offense was "unsporting behavior" - correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that synonymous with time wasting. There was no time wasting whatsoever with the celebration, Tchani came back to the field immediately and the goal was in the 40th minute FFS.
