    Default Will Mo Show Up?

With him still residing in the beaches it got me thinking, will Mo show up at BMO on Saturday? It would be interesting to see what the reaction would be if he was strolling around the BMO. I bumped into him at the MLS Cup so he has already been back once anyways.

    is he still living here?

Mo's like a Teflon Gangster - he's just too slick to do anything that dumb. Showing up at BMO would be sticking his neck out and asking for trouble.

You mean he hasn't been escorted out of the city limits?

I'd love for them to show his face on the big screen.

Apparently he does, plus he was walking around on the west concourse during the MLS Cup.

Guys, why hate Mo? Why get personal? It's not his fault he failed, it's the fault of the people who hired him. They didn't do their homework, then doubled down on a bad decision.

When you get in the water with a shark, and the shark bites you, does it really make sense to blame the shark?

Mo fought for grass, and actually acquired quite a few good players for nothing (Dichio, Wynne, Guevara).... before it all went to hell, that is.

(Not saying anyone should love Mo, don't get me wrong!)

He lives in my neighbourhood? I did not know that.

I know the guys in my row will be giving him the most ironic, slow clap standing ovation ever done.

If he does show up, he proves that he's got some big ones under his kilt.

It was a bad decision to hire him but then when in place, he did some dishonest and quite frankly unethical things. That is on him.

AND he didn't ask for help. His ego held him back from recommending a proper structure with the team where he could have had competent personnel under him that would have done a good job and made him look good. Instead, he played politics and protected his job as long as he could and filled support staff with lackeys.

No...there is much responsibility on his shoulders. 5 years wasted. Tons of money down the drain. Strained relationships everywhere. Between the club, the players, the fans, the supporters groups...hell even the media. This is a Type 1 clusterfuck and he has a ton of responsibility over it.

So yeah, it's reached a personal level for me. If I see him, I will give him a piece of my mind.

What??? That has to be the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard.

Hahahahaaa!!!!! Hey everyone. If you ever get fired for being lousy at your job, while in the exit interview tell the HR people that it was not your fault you messed up it was the people who hired you. "I absolve myself of all decisions I made. It's not my fault"

OK, ok. You are joking, right?

People can be upset and vent that is their choice and right, I don't take things personal, I won't applaud Mo, nor will I boo Mo, I'll be watching the match. Yes he did fuck up and he got fired, too late mind you!!

Are you absolutely certain about that? Are you sure he wasn't played, too?

Anyway, if he goes to the game it's unlikely he'll take his kids.

    100% behind this post.

People in other threads are already stating that this season Winter should have the right to do worse than Mo did in season one. (6-17-7) despite the fact that Winter doesnt have close to the problems that Mo had to deal with other than a couple of good players who are unhappy about their contracts.

Id just like to reiterate, what Mo had working against him.

Slim pickings in the expansion draft (which it was widely reported that he 'owned' anyway.)

Players who had hissy fits about coming here, and in the case of Nate Jacqua, the option to refuse to come and demand a trade to LA.

Fieldturf, increasing difficulty with signing players and heightening injury risk.

Over fatigue due to fieldturf, during busy schedules.

90% key players on international callup at the same time.

devastating injuries like Ronnie O Brien's knee and Dichio's concussion.

No ability or will from FO to sign a DP.

overhyped canadian talent (the canadian shield), which Mo was forced to acquire, and turned out to be utter garbage.

The spectre of TFC'c sizeable Celtic fan contingent, turning the screw.

An FO, that set up the team purely to exist in the league, with a 'it would be great if we did win....but the real focus is bums in seats' mentality.

I'd like to point out too, that prior to the season opener in 2007, it was widely reported that Mo had done a stellar job and 'on paper' had assembled one of the strongest teams in the league.

Mo's fbiggest failure was finding width and goalscorers, The Barrett solution which the league forced on him, was the beginning of the end.

Anyone who would take decisions Mo made personally and launch a verbal assault at the guy would need to have their head checked. I'm all for passion, but that's just immature.

He did what he thought was right. Those decisions did not pan out so he lost his job. That's all there is to it. Happens all the time in sport. Heroes and villains; that's what makes it fun.

Resources were made available to him and what he did with them was to ensure he did not bring in anyone that would threaten his position.

And yes I am certain about it.

Agreed. Mo wasn't a visionary by any means, but he was always passionate about TFC and the city. I'm glad he's gone but I certainly hold no ill will towards him.

You and I are talking about two different things. Mo could have had a job for life here. He screwed the pooch. No two ways about it.

Did Mo do some good things? Yes. Was he a devious guy who put his own self interest above the team sometimes? Yes.

Do you think will Anselmi and Winter are putting, or may someday put, their own self interest above that of the team?

Did we ever, or do we now, have the people or systems in place to manage those conflict issues?

If this is true, I blame Anselmi for this. 100%.

Oh Anselmi is a BIG reason why the first 5 years have been a mess.

He is a textbook case of absentee management.
