Serious props to the 100 TFC supporters that made the long trip to B.C. to cheer on the boys tonight. Represent!

Wish I could be there. Can't wait for TFC to make the whitecaps look like a bunch of droopy-eyed armless children.#winning

    My guess:

Frei; Gargan, Nana, Cann, Yourassowsky; Bouchiba, Zavarise, De Rosario; Martina, Maicon, Soolsma.

Is this confirmed? I like it.

There are only 5 players that started last year's season opener, which is a good thing (except for JDG)...

I think we'll see Peterson as opposed to Soolsma. I can see Soolsma coming in around the 70 minute mark. Aside from that, looks about right.

BTW is Omphroy still injured? Might see him at some point if not.

There's a free preview of Direct Kick today(probably U.S. only). I'd look into it if you have cable or directv.

Is that confirmed? I though Morgan was starting left back? Thought Gol tv mentioned it the other day. Anyway, glad to see the start of the season!

lol.. seriously, eh. I've been getting a chuckle out of all this derby talk in the media. I'm glad they're playing it up as a rivalry because it makes it more fun, but I can't help but roll my eyes at the fact we have to go one eighth around the world for it.

The intense Canadian Derby starts next season with Montreal. The Vancouver rivalry should be decent though, and it's all we've got for now...

Exactly, those silly dopes do the grunt work for all the successful companies based in Toronto. *kidding*... well, sort of...

More I think about today's game, more I think TFC can take something from Vancouver

Why? Because the Shitecaps defence is pretty shite. That is, if Jay DeMerit doesn't play, it leaves a big hole in Shitecaps.

Greg Janicki is a serviceable MLS defender, but not really a consistent starter. There is a reason why he got cut from DC United and ended up in Vancouver. Leathers at RB is also questionable on defence. IIRC, Wes Knight is strong, but not the most mobile CB.
And Jay Nolly... well, Toronto scored on him before

So this leaves a potential for Maicon Santos and Martina to dance around Vancouver defence, and hopefully leave gaps that DeRo can exploit.

I really hope that Martina can link up better with his teammates, because so far, I've seen a lot of fancy footwork that doesn't quite add up to anything. (he kinda reminds me of Rohan Ricketts)

    Starting to get quietly optimistic!

Don't forget about Gordon (who I think is there now) can come off the bench as a pure target man and switch things up in the 2nd half if required. He can definitely create some problems in the box to free up some space for the other forwards.

really hoping for a win here.

I don't consider this a "derby" when it's 3 timezones away and a 5 hour flight ...... Montreal will be 100x more intense.
