LOL @ the EA Sports FIFA 2011 simulation...
A video game simulation put together by EA Sports had the Whitecaps defeating Toronto FC 1-0 next Saturday in Vancouver's first regular-season match in Major League Soccer. Midfielder John Thorrington scores the winning goal in the 39th minute.
Portland gamers are going to be pissed, haha...EA Sports is one of the Whitecaps founding partners. The deal is the video game company's first partnership with a North American soccer club.
Being a partner has its privileges. Beginning Friday, people owning FIFA Soccer 11 can download the entire Whitecap team.
"It's the first time midway through our product launch we have taken a team and put them directly into the game," said Bilbey.
Fans of the Portland Timbers, the other MLS expansion team this season, will have to wait until the release of FIFA Soccer 12 later this year before they can download their players.

SSG: Hey Hey Hey
Alan Gordon for Nick LaBrocca: Good call as far as trades for depth and to fill out the squad position-wise. Alan Gordon, I'm not crazy about him but I think he can hold the ball pretty well. Bringing others into play and being useful in the air will be his main contributions. As far as technique, I think he is comparable to Jarred Smith and thats why he doesn't score more often.
Gianluca Zaravise: Is he a centre midfielder?
Whitecaps Vs Toronto FC:
This game will be embarrassing to watch for TFC. Expect a tie or loss.
Formation: I think the defensive formation with an anchor man infront of the back four will help the defense with plays through the middle, but it will definitely be useless against crosses into the box.
Defensive Midfielder: We don't have any defensive midfielders that are able to battle in the air and the only player that can battle and close people down effectively might be DeGuzman(Injured). I can see this position also hindering the attack due to the constant pressure put on the defense and the lack of a defensive midfielder that can move the ball forward to help the team moving forward.
Attack: We will have to see considering the Whitecaps have a good defense and can easily stop the aerial attack from Alan Gordon. I'm not sure who the left back will be for the Whitecaps, but its possible that Martina will have an advantage as the right winger, and as far as the left winger, DeRosario will be reliable. Our midfielders with Bouchiba might be decent.
How we will lose, if we don't tie: Set pieces, and a lack of marking and closing down by the left back and right back.

Vancouver is there, but you can't play them in league play - only in a friendly.
I love video game predictions - I don't know why...
Super Bowl, Game-7 of series, anything - its good for a laugh and some chatter...
I wonder what EA Sports all-time official record is in prediction matches...???
Carts...

here is their Superbowl picks
Since 2004, EA games has run a simulation of the Super Bowl using the latest game in the "Madden NFL" series and announced the result. The game simulations conducted by EA have predicted six of the last eight Super Bowl winners. EA also releases a computer-generated description of the simulated game as if it were a summary of the real Super Bowl. The results of the simulated and actual Super Bowl games are listed below.
- 2004 – Patriots 23, Panthers 20[45] (Actual Score: Patriots 32, Panthers 29)
- 2005 – Patriots 47, Eagles 31[46] (Actual score: Patriots 24, Eagles 21)
- 2006 – Steelers 24, Seahawks 19[47] (Actual score: Steelers 21, Seahawks 10)
- 2007 – Colts 38, Bears 27[48] (Actual score: Colts 29, Bears 17)
- 2008 – Patriots 38, Giants 30[49] (Actual score: Giants 17, Patriots 14)
- 2009 – Steelers 28, Cardinals 24[50] (Actual score: Steelers 27, Cardinals 23)
- 2010 – Saints 35, Colts 31[51] (Actual score: Saints 31, Colts 17)
- 2011 - Steelers 24, Packers 20[52](Actual score: Packers 31, Steelers 25)
According to the article, FIFA 11 simulations have accurately predicted 6 of 8 UEFA Champions League matches recently, including the correct final score in 3 of them. That's actually very impressive.
I don't buy the prediction against Vancouver though because the FIFA 11 simulation didn't use TFC's actual starting lineup.
A video game is predicting a Vancouver win? Isn't everyone?
An awesome SSG spread ruined by the knowledge she's married with kids.
TORONTO FC, 2017 MLS CHAMPIONS!!! (Still the greatest in league history!)
