Frei was such a soft spoken, positive and warm guy at the Year end this year. . . . I got the impression that he Truly was thankful for the support, and obviously delighted in our view that he is not long for MLS given his obvious talents. .

THANK GOD he is lacing up for TFC this year. . .. lets build the team around him.

I hope there is some reenforcements coming in for at least this year. This is looking bad.

I mentioned before that I've been watching the CONCACAF Copa Centro-Americana, and if the players we've drafted are not making these young squads for the countries we might be good for filling positional depth but I think we can kiss goodbye to a playoff appearance.

Why did he leave Finland, I thought he was doing pretty well. Would coming back to the MLS mean taking a big pay cut. Good to see if it happens though.

Does anyone know how the salaries in Finland compare to the MLS.

He left Finland because he wanted to move to a better league.

No Finland is not better than MLS, it's comparable to NASL/USL.

The reason why players go there is so they can be seen by German, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish clubs...and if you're Tosaint Ricketts, Canuck Striker, Romanian clubs.

    Duane,

You may want to check out a little inconsistancy at the end of your article. Probably just a typo, but...
With above average speed, it’s likely that Omphroy will be compared to former TFC defender Marvell Wynne. Frei says that although Omphroy can outrun defenders like Wynne, he doesn’t rely on his speed as much as the current Colorado Rapids player does.

He doesn’t have the same speed as Marvell, but he is strong on the ball,” Frei said. “He’s got great control with the ball at his feet and is always looking to create something.”

Considering what Andrew Jennings uncovered about Sepp Blatter and FIFA, don't be suprised if Zimbabwe is actually awarded the women's World Cup. Corruption. Ya gotta love it!

And that SSG is soooo niiiiiice! It's a shame most of her pics are in the dark, so we can't see much of her.

    This.

David loved Europe especially being able to play in Champions League qualifiers, but he comes home every chance he gets. I get the feeling there is a little bit of homesickness. Not to mention, his team probably won't be in the CL again.

Versus a multi talented CSA? Its an even race as far as I'm concerned. Love to see this come to Canada, but with our association you never know.

Considering Zimbabwe hasn't got 2 nickels to rub together I don't think they can afford any FIFA bribes...Otherwise I would agree with you...

If you care about the Canadian game, email these ASA members and ask them why they're trying to interfere with the SGM vote by hiring security to keep out those who oppose them, as well as suspending entire districts in advance of the vote (making their votes void). Oh, and the meeting was not done on enough notice (3 weeks), and the vote has been scheduled for first thing in the morning.

    How is this inconsistent????????

Frei says that although Omphroy can outrun defenders like Wynne...

“He doesn’t have the same speed as Marvell, but he is strong on the ball,”

Person A and Person B are both faster than Person C through Z.
Person A is faster than Person B.

    No inconsistencies.

You're right, it's not inconsistent - it's a poorly constructed sentence. Omphroy is not outrunning defenders like Wynne. Rather, like Wynne, Omphroy can outrun defenders. Thus my confusion...

Poor punctuation. You need a comma before "like wynne" :

Frei says that, like Wynne, Omphroy can outrun defenders.

What you have now is a split infinitive, it could mean two different things.

Average salaries are slightly less there, but the clubs pay for condo, car, plane tickets home etc.
