Transfermarkt.de lists Elbekay Bouchiba as an attacking mid., maybe a little underwhelming in that his wiki lists him as having never scored a goal. I know he's not a striker, but still . . .
Their stats aren't that accurate (albeit better than most.) I've noticed that site commonly lacks stats for players who make most of their appearances as subs, so it might just be that he was always a utility player. Doesn't bode that well, but he's coming from a Dutch system, so who knows...
Question: If any of the trialists stick with TFC will they necessarily be coming back to TO with the team (and shortly thereafter move on to Florida)? Or would they be asked to stay away from the team until the next batch of trialists is done? I do not recall what past experience has been.
Martina looked great in the Red Star highlights...hope he stays
Its just a hunch but dont be surprised if we pick up a couple young Serbian/Croatian players(not strong enough to play on the 1st club)...possibly on loan to strength the side.
Thoughts?
There was a new face on the pitch on Tuesday as Toronto FC’s players went through a double training session in Antalya, Turkey. Kevin Westmaas is the latest trialist to join the squad and arrived at the Calista Luxury Resort on Monday evening. Westmaas is a 23-year-old Dutch left back who was previously part of the youth system at Ajax.
With Dutch winger Bas Ent and Uruguayan forward Santiago Gonzalez now having left training camp, there are currently nine trialists with the squad including Westmaas. The others are Eddy Sidra, Gianluca Zavarise, David Monsalve, Javier Martina, Nick Soolsma, King Osei Ggyan, Elbekay Bouchiba and Chris Hutner.

So, in summary, add Westmaas, delete Ent and Gonzalez.
LOL, you guys are in sync...
I had commented that I was unimpressed by Ent's blind crosses so Im not sad to see him go.
He was afterall originally a MO/Pricky pick so how good could he possibly have been.
There isn't much information available on Kevin Westmaas but based on his background in the Ajax youth system, I'm sure Winter and DeClerk are familiar enough with him to justify inviting him to trial at LB, one of the positions in which TFC currently lacks depth.
Only thing I could find on him is his twitter account. LOL
I think our new coaches could dramatically improve our chances of getting quality players on loan. By contrast sending people to play here in the past under people like Preki would be career genocide for talented young players.
Problem is the stupid MLS rule of loans must having buy options keeps alot of teams at bay.
i'm just glad Mariner is on board, because Winter doesn't really know (except from perhaps watching DVDs of TFC games) the kind of player required in MLS. he could formulate an interesting team that sucks in MLS competition. Mariner should be the reality check.
westmaas is currently an amateur player. his youth was not at ajax but shows at amateur clubs RKSV DCG and Zeeburgia.
Martina and Gyan are the two trialists that interest me the most.
He plays with the Ajax Amateur team.
Watch him sign with Columbus. LOL
