im definitely not complaining (also it should be obvious by now that some people will never be happy and to a certain extent that is forever the curse of being a football fan)

Also, don't forget that MLS is a pretty forgiving league for a coach, since it "protects" him at every step... so many rules promote parity that he almost can't fail disastrously (well, unless you're given crap players as we saw with TFC or NYRB a year ago).

But Kreis had no coaching experience at this level... Hyndman didn't.. Gary Smith didn't... as long as you're not a fucking idiot you should be ok!

uh, Hyndman had gazillion years of coaching at NCAA level
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

you missed the "at this level" part

Hyndman never coached pros before Dallas, which was the topic we are discussing.
Hyndman was essentially a youth coach for his whole life.

I just hope that we go back to being happy...

    I miss that.

MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

Me too! It feels like ages ago that we were all happy and enjoying this great thing we had. It's too bad MLSE has managed to really fuck that up. Hopefully today is the first step towards much better times.

I dunno, but his english sounds more north american than british.

If we could improve his grammar, he'd fit right in over here.

One more somewhat important point on the new management team:

This is exactly why you don't take a guy like Earl Cochrane just because he seems personally impressive. That the worst of the cult of personality for ya.

Ability of charm to overwhelm substance can impact any of us, but the end result would've been Earl as GM, Daso as coach.

Can anyone who said they would be happy with Cochrane as the GM still say it?

    No?

    Point made.
