SSG kinda looks like 50s pin up girl. Though I didn't know being a SS gives you some sort of one up over your other friends. lol

still in the hunt for a head coach? I'd bloody well hope so.

important re-entry draft coming up, many different decisions to be made, tactics to taake, sure would be nice to have an experienced guy in there. but no, we'll have another interim job.

this needs to eb the focus. . WHO IS AT THE HELM OF THIS DRAFT!???!

I am worried that the team will be set up . . only to be totally against the new coaches style and requirements. . .

    oy-vey.

I hear FAT Sam Allardyce is free. . . . where are the rumours about him?

Is it strange to say that I think it's remarkable that Frei is still around and talking positively about next season? We all seem to think it's only a matter of time before he's gone, but . . . he doesn't leave.

Obviously not complaining of course . . . it's just nice to see that he actually seems enthused to stay.

"With training camp just six weeks away, Frei is already thinking ahead to 2011 and about what Toronto need to do to finally make it into the playoffs. But he’s confident that the Reds will succeed in the upcoming season."

Well... that's the spirit we need... now to turn it into a reality

As far as I can tell he likes the city and really this is a great opportunity for him to get a lot of playing time. Plus he is still quite young for a 'keeper... Worst thing for his growth would be to go somewhere and languish on the bench..

^Agreed....It could be career suicide for Frei to take a backup role in Europe with an established keeper in front of him....Just look at the once promising keepers who have languished for many years at Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, etc....IMO Frei would want to be a starter with 1-2 years of moving or else it doesn't make sense...

“You might worry that you can’t turn it around,” Frei said, “but look at New York last year. If we can make just a few adjustments, we feel that we can do what New York did.”

hmm, I think it might be a bit late for "just a few adjustments", but oh well, glad to read he'll probably still be around a bit longer.

Very true, but a lot of keepers go and do that anyway because of the excitement of it. Good to see that he's smart enough to have figured that out.

Uhhh yeah $11 million in adjustments. I don't think we're gonna see that kind of adjustment any time soon.

Not really TFC news anymore but

    SoccerByIves
John Carver, ex Toronto coach, made interim (caretaker) manager of Sheffield United today.

and if a chance happens to come their way, like how that traitor Begovic is now #1 keeper at Stoke, you take it

being at TFC isn't getting Frei any notice at Swiss national team radar...

Guzan's day will come. Friedel is 39, an old geezer age in EPL. he will have to retire sooner or later. (barring Houllier buying a keeper soon)
