Yeah, beer sponsorship is still fine.

Beer companies are still involved in hockey and facilities big time.

    Barrie has the Molson Centre.
    Guelph has the Sleeman Centre.
London has the John Labatt Centre.

    Leafs season...

I'd actually prefer a beer company over a bank sponsor, don't know why. BMO and Molson are both national brands, but what would constitute a truly "Toronto" brand sponsor?
I can't think of one off hand.

TD? it's a national bank but they still have Toronto in the name (that nobody uses anymore).

Not sure Canadian law would allow it, given that we ban alcohol advertising if it can be said to be appealing to minors.

Alcohol sponsorship of a sports team jersey is almost certainly illegal under that regulation.

No-one said Canadian laws logically followed or made any sense. I have a long list of questions for the government. Like why does the TTC shut down at 1:30am when last call is at 2am if there's a war on drunk driving? If the goal is to stop drunk driving and not just paying overtime to police officers, wouldn't having the subway open for another hour stop more people then a few cops scattered in random places around the city? If the goal is to prevent kids from drinking wouldn't education be a better way to go then "ALCOHOL? No kids, nothing to see here. Nope, nothing at all. No, no need to be curious. Seriously, nothing there".

It'd never, ever, ever happen but how funny would it be if the marijuana party/legalize pot movement devoted literally ALL it's resources to putting a Toronto Hemp Company logo on the front of TFC jerseys. Want a world famous jersey? thats a GUARANTEED seller

someone made a mockup timbers kit that said rogue was going to be their sponsor. rogue, being brewed in portland, is one of my favourite breweries and having them as a sponsor would've made me insanely jealous.

Its what the sales guy at adidas young and dundas said to me when I went to go buy my gf the womens jacket that they have it in the catalog on another note I have seen the white caps jersey in person and they bot look very sharp how ever. The canadian flag is red and white the the blue jersey unlike the picture in the thread where it looks baby blue

That picture was simply a colour inversion of the white jersey as a guess-timation as to what the new Whitecaps jersey would look like. Thus the odd colours on the patches and flags.

I got this from Goff's site (apparently from the MLS insider) of what some NFL kits would look like crossed over. Some are quite impressive.
