well the only decisions TFC makes today is 1 player to protect..... they chose JDG.
im sure they could have asked klinnsman this before the draft

I disagree....I have a feeling that he had a hand in putting JDG on the list.......it was a risk but at his salary he was thinking no one would bite...allowing us to protect one more....and in the event of someone else getting selected(OBW) we can pull JDG back and no harm.....
I still think TFC has plans to have JDG in the mix full force.....whether people like it or not.

The reason is that they keep Bornstein and Findlay's rights indefinitely. When/if they come back in 3-5 years they belong to Portland.
Assuming Portland is contending in that time frame (just like we were supposed to), those guys could be the final piece of the puzzle.

Garcia's contract is up this year. I am guessing there will be something happening in the re-entry draft if Toronto does not negotiate a new deal with him.

Good points about keeping Findley's & Bornstein's rights. Some weird rules, because they are national team players, Portland keeps their rights indefinitely??? (According to the live commentary.)
