I spoke to Michelle Lissell this afternoon on the phone. I called her to see if I could get her to go on the record about Mista and his DP status.
She confirmed to yours truly that he is on a DP deal until the end of the 2010 season when the contract expires.

I don't agree that it's disrespectful of the fans, or dishonest to not mention Mista being a DP. We don't have an absolute right to know anything about a player's deal, and if it weren't for the players' union releasing figures, we would not know very much about any players' deal.
Anyways, it's smart, given the need to manage expectations. That's way better than Mo's much ballyhood signings and almost signings of years gone by. Maybe he's learned a thing or two.
