Default U.S. would get record $20 million bonus for winning World Cup

U.S. would get record $20 million bonus for winning World Cup

The USA’s massive bonus deal has been agreed in secret as part of the most recent Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

That is great bonus deal in last CBA for US born players.

All US footy fans should get a peice of this if we win. We've earned it being the unloved group of sports fan in this country.

thats called incentive.. Although a slim chance in winning the WC there is strong interest that the US shows that the domestic league is improving . Many countries give thier players incentives and nothing better then cold hard cash ... Canada must start doing this to give thier players more reasons to win ..

In related news, the CSA has just announced a one-hundred-thousand-million-bajillion dollar bonus if Canada wins the 2010 World Cup.

US doesn't have to win at all, since CBA deal is so good.

If the USA win the World Cup, then US Soccer is committed to putting as much as 66.4 per cent of the prize earnings ($20.6m of $31m) straight into the players’ pockets.
If the players flop, they will get just 20 per cent of US Soccer’s earnings, or $1.8m from $9m. (In addition to the $8m minimum for being in the group phase, each nation gets $1m “preparation” money

I had heard it was to Dobson if he could go with out fucking up anyone's name for 2 days straight.

Had heard he is practicing everyone's name, and has almost got them connected to the right countries... also making a break through, no longer calling Wayne Rooney, Mickey and not referring to anyone as beckham in three days.

$20 million...pfft. That's so cliche. I prefer alternative methods of monetary sluplimental incentives.
In one world cup I believe the president of Ecuador offered a farm and 20 heads of cattle for the player who scored a hat trick...stuff like that.

^ One of Saddam's sons had the best incentive ever - if your proformance embarasses us, I'm going to hook electrodes up to your testicles.

There was also an African dictator that threatened to torture the team if they didn't do well...they'd just been smoked 8-0 or something by an averag team and had to play Brazil in their next game (they lost 3-0, but that was considered a good enough result to not get tortured because everyone raved about how well they played!)

Confederations cup is not the world cup, not even remotely close so yes it is verging on impossible.

The USA will win the WC long before the Leafs ever win the Stanley Cup....as a Habs fan I find that somehow comforting....

U.S. has a good side and a great attitude. but england will sort them out first with a quick reality check, then the yanks can get back to trying to cash in. i wish them luck - an exciting underdog for sure and they love a big stage.
