being a bit selfish why can't we shoot for both...having TFC in the playoffs and in the Concacaf champions league in the second season would be terrific.

There's really no reason why we shouldn't be able to! It would be awesome!
oBVIOUS leauge!....but everything else is a great bonus! Where in for some great footy!
the League is more important then the Canada Cup, but the Champions League would be a different argument.
Animals Eaten:
pig, cow, lamb, moose, chicken, quail, kudu, ostrich, kangaroo, octopus, alligator, rabbit, shark, springbok, goat, bison, boar, caterpillars, turkey, fish, lobster, crab, oyster, prawn, antelope, camel, eel, squid
I want TFC to take the Canada Cup very seriously because, while it may be a small competition, it's a first step for TFC in terms of picking up silverware.
Sure it can happen, I'm not daying that. All I'm saying is that they are USl teams and the product isn't great. I wouldn't risk injury of players against thos eteams.
To me the league games are more important.
And as far as your comment about the Italian side goes how come Engalnd isn't in the Euro 2008. The top 16 teams in Euro have qualified and the weakest links in Euro (England,) didn't qualify. The English side is left to play friendlies against the US and Trinidad. They are playing weak teams in attempt to get their FIFA rankings up and to avoid more losses.
Another thing the English clubs have faired well against the Italian club teams this year for 1 reason - becaus eof their international players (i.e Balalck, Droga, Ronaldo, Nani, Torres etc) not because of their own players
The US is not a "weak team" seeing as how it is ranked 21st above Euro 2008 participants, Russia (25) and Sweden (23) and Cup of African Nations semi-finalist Ivory Coast (21)
Trinidad IS a weak side at 88 and well Canada is...62

Where is the option for "They are equally important"? That's my vote.
They're both important, but I can't choose which is most important because I want us to win it all.
Not enough options in this poll I'm afraid.
Success in both increases our ability to attract good players
was going to add both as an option but... anyhoo
TFC 2008 MLS champions, 2008 supporters shield winners, 2008 Canada Cup winners 2008-09 Concacaf Chmapions league winners?
And a date with Manchester United in the World Club Championships!
yeah the league is the reason why we play.
i want to win everything including the canada cup. but the MLS cup would be something that we could hold over every other MLS team.
BUT, we can only get into the champions league though the canada cup.....so lets win that too
Both would be fine but I couldn't care less about the MLS cup. The chance to play teams outside the MLS? Not a difficult choice.
BOTH!!! It MUST be BOTH!!!
The Canada Cup as we are calling it is huge, going against Montreal and Vancouver will bring the game into a coast to coast National pressence. I just think for the game in this country this tournement can do a lot, also it will be great to see Serge and Adam make their returns to BMO Field. I really liked Serge and know what he was up against last year, very happy to see him back on the pitch.
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
there really should have been more options in the poll.
I demand a do-over!
The league; no doubt in my mind whatsoever.
I don't get - If we win the the Canada cup we have proven we are better than two USL teams. If we win the MLS cup, we are the best of the best in Canada/USA... Seems like a no brainer to me...
Why aren't people looking further ahead? It's not so much about the league vs. Canada Cup. It's really the league vs. the Champions League. The Canada Cup leads to the Champions League. That's the no-brainer. I would love to hear how someone can argue that the Champions League is unimportant.
