yes... 10 pages!
A Canadian who played for them back in 1941!

I only recognize Batistuta and Juan pablo Angel?
Now THIS is thinking outside the box. They didn't do a testimonial game for any of our players. Making the testimonial game the "friendly" would have been a better idea, in particular with regards to where the proceeds would have gone to.
I like this idea. Too bad there aren't many people who think outside the box like this.
Thank you.
I mean really...comparing Bolton to "winning the lottery".
Riiiiiight...they're doing us a favour throwing us a team that has struggled to stay in the EPL the past 3 years and who most soccer fans in this city could barely name the manager or a single player let alone more.
Well just to stir the pot here even further, I was called by my Ticket rep today here in Charleston about preordering tickets for the match. A ticket where my season tickets (which doesn't include the Bolton match in Charleston) seats are at is going to be $15. the bleachers will be cheaper i was told.
Next year when I purchase season tickets can I get an option to opt out of the midseason friendly thus reducing the cost of my season's ticket?
I would like that very much.
And if TFC manages to get FIFA World Club Cup champion and I miss out so be it.
I brought this up when I spoke with my ticket rep earlier this afternoon. She told me that they actually had a hard time even getting Bolton with the WC this summer... didn't have any rebuttal though when I mentioned the talent that USL level teams are attracting (Fiorentina/Limpact match).

I am happy to see Bolton or any team in the EPL play as the Carlsberg opponent. I think the reaction of some here is surprising and it just goes to show you that no matter what you do you can never make everyone happy. I think it will be entertaining and that's all that matters to me.
look at our history of opponents.... they aren't far off from Bolton.
nobody promised a big friendly, you bought the mystery friendly. deal with it.
I'm happy with Bolton. They wouldn't have been my 1st choice team, but it is what it is and I'm fine with that.
Hopefully Matty Taylor will play - he's probably the most under appreciated player in the Prem. Gary Cahill (if he doesn't make the England squad) will be fun to watch too. Our strikers could learn a lot from watching Kevin Davies play, and our defenders will have to up their game to shut him down. Jussi Jääskeläinen is one of the best keepers in the league, I hope Frei gets a chance to talk with him. It's too bad that Chung-Yong Lee will be at the World Cup, I'd love to see him play.
If Danny Shittu doesn't make the Nigerian team, I see lots of great banner potential
I'll definitely give you that, West ham are the more "glamorous" and "well known" club among a certain demographic. And generally speaking, they play nicer football than Bolton does.
And really that's the sort of thing that sells tickets to a friendly rather than historical and recent success.
style over substance, perception over reality, that sort of thing.
It just annoys me that people think the perception IS the reality.
Complain to your ticket rep all you want. You're allowed....
It will certainly do more good than running this son of a bitch up to 20 pages. lol.
And reading and commenting in it regardless if you agree or not. You're doing the same thing but pretending like you're not. In fact...your position is all the more tenuous considering you have no problem with the friendly but decide it's the best use of your time to comment on how someone else is unhappy. It's the same shit with a different smell.
no but the difference is it's a lot of fun on my end.
