I sort of get what Preki was thinking with the starting lineup, I just do not think the Reds have the players to support such a plan.

Not putting DeRo and JDG in the lineup out of the gate puts them behind the eight ball from the get go.

Outside Nane's header the Reds really did not have any chances.

You're right, its not easy. But you gotta give these guys some time to play together and why not on the third game after 7 days, right?

I like the depth, but the chemistry is missing. Unfortunately that usually takes time during the game to develop.

I've been impressed with the way the midfield kept their shape and held the pressure of off teh back line for most of the half - I was gonna come on here and rave at how well LaBrocca is playing, but then I realised it wasn't just him - Saric, Gargan, Sanyang and Nane are all doing a great job of keeping a fluid tight midfield.

Really, if Cann had a bit more pace and Nana wasn't always turning his back to the ball, it'd still be 0-0.

We are playing way too far back and we aren't good enough to hold for a draw away from home. Think about what happens when teams come to BMO and try this shit...we usually beat them anyway.

4-4-2 from the start and just play. We had a better shot at something that way IMO.

Is everyone here really that dumb? With a full schedule, preki is forced to sit them, so they stay healthy, and are actually able to practice, and be useful for our next game. Do you really want them playing every single game that we have, and end up getting leg cramps, and being fatigued every game?

Sitting them now makes complete sence, and they will likely be brought on a little bit into this half, possibly with DeRo hopping on right away, and DeGuz being put in a little later.

You all should realize that this has to happen every now and then. Doesnt make for the best game, but if its a game you know you will lose anyway (they are a great team, and they never lose at home) then it is a better plan sitting them tonight, then waiting for a game we can actually win, and sitting them for that, letting a weaker team run all over us.

Almost in all European championships there are 18 or 16 teams (or 20!), plus they have national cups to play for, and they always are playing their best 11 if they are fit, not resting people.

+1. I understand the need to rest players. But to leave BOTH Dero and JDG out of the starting lineup? Why not just leave one or the other out, that way, you don't lose too much of your creativity in midfield.
