That's pretty cool. I like the idea of showcasing international soccer in this city now that we finally have a stadium worth visiting.

After weeks of negotiation, D.C. United has finalized plans to play a friendly against Glasgow Rangers, one of international soccer's most decorated clubs, on July 24 at RFK Stadium. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

Can Rangers please come here, as part of our Carlsberg Cup match.

I'm thinking that would be pretty cool for Edu. And us.

any chance they'll be playing starters like the madrid game? I have no problem paying money if the real team shows up. i pay to see the names on the back of the jersey, not the logo on the front.

Awesome. If I wasn't already going to see Fiorentina in Montreal and then Juve v Fiorentina in Toronto I'd go to this... Somehow I anticipate the crowd being a Portuguese majority.

I might be willing to go only to salute Benfica for the season they've had. A number of their guys will likely not be here due to the WC - DiMaria, Saviola, Aimar (maybe), Cardozo, Maxi Pereira, Coentrao, and Luisao.

It's just to complete the circle. Were here at the beginning of the season and now at the end.

Also they're going to New England for a friendly.

My only concern is the turf...

TFC plays the night before. Hope it doesn't rain that weekend.

Have faith in the groundskeepers!!! RPB should do a year-end tifo for the grounds crew.

It probably wont be rangers, so far they are tentativly booked for
Boston @ Fenway vs Celtic Jul 21
    vs DC on Jul 24
vs Club America @ Dallas Cowboys stadium
with games in Miami and NYC to follow.
I read that Celtic will be doing 2 games in Toronto, one vs Man u @ rogers and vs TFC @ BMO, followed by the Rangers game in boston and against someone else in Philly.
    we'll see.

If this were true about celtic v man u and celtic v tfc then it would make for a great summer

Didn't hear about Celtic vs TFC myself but ya man u/celtic I knew about plus they are still working out for the old firm game in boston, however I heard FIFA may try to stop it as they don't think other places are going to be able to handle them

Yeah I heard of celtic v man u although it has not been officially announced. Celtic v TFC was new to me also but that would be awesome.

The Juve game in my opinion has been priced too high. $60 for a seat in the 500's of the rogers center is a rip off in my opinion, I will be interested to see how full the stadium is.

That's not true, the $60 seats are in the 200 level. They have not opened up the 500 level for sale yet. I'm guessing they want to sell out the lower bowl before they sell cheaper 500 level seats.

Both these matches are so poorly advertised. How do they expect to sell out if people don't know about them?!?!? Thank God for the RPB site !!!

You are incorrect according to ticketmaster. The 500 seats are $60.

Click on the below link, select section, then 500 and you will see that they are $60.

Actually we are both correct as if you click on the 200 level it has seats also priced at $60.

    Default Rangers

The odds of an Old Firm game in Boston is slim to none. Rangers would be stupid to play Celtic in a city like Boston where the majority of the population is of Irish-Catholic decent.

Agreed. I mean I would LOVE this to happen and being a Celtic fan i would love the atmosphere but I agree that it would be a poor choice for rangers to want to play there. Don't need some drunken fans to go all boondock saints style lol

Nobody in boston really cares about soccer, If they did the revolution would get more than 10,000 fans at their games.

Seriously, every face in their crowd, and there were not many of them, were looking at us this year.

The side of the stadium that had the camera, was not only empty, but covered with tarps. They don't even try to sell tickets ON AN ENTIRE SIDE.

It was like shooting fish in a barrel... until the game began and they kicked TFC's ass. And even then we beat them on a fan scale of things.

    Still, a shame.
