No, with an organization like MLSE it's lazy to pick out one guy and dump all the blame on him (and with the amount of peope in TFC repped by the same agency we don't even know who is really running the team). It's also dangerous because if the problems really do extend further they'll never get fixed if people will be satisfied with what could really be a minor change in middle managment.
Signing an injured player? GREAT.
Fuck it, let's have a back four of Stephen Hawking, the Latvian guy, Garcia, and Terri Schiavo's corpse.
Let's do this!
Well, he's 23, so at least he can only get better, provided he doesn't break both his legs anytime in the near future. Don't know anything about him but hopefully he's good. Woo for Latvia!
Lets see this guy play before we judge.
Here's a question that I'm sure everyone will respond wih a "No", Has anyone seen him play?
I too have been very disappointed with the calibre of players that have been brought in the past but no one has a clue whether this guy can play until he actually plays.
And here's another question, since when has Wikipedia been reliable when it comes to injuries? He was in camp training so how "serious" a knee injury was it?
The only reason that we are signing someone so obscure is that Mo has so badly mismanaged the cap, that we need a really cheap solution -- i.e. someone from a no-name league who would sign for the MLS minimum.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
Since I was bored, I tried to dig up some info on this guy.
He does have experience playing in European competitions. He made appearances in both of Skonto's matches versus Derry City of Ireland in the Europa League 2nd Qualifying Round last summer.

Also, it appears the last time he played a competitive match was November 8, 2009.

The injury must have occurred during the off season.

Ooooh we definitely bagged a winner.
Whatever. Welcome to the team Latvian Lightning!
3 pages.
HA - Everyone check the Marcus Haber thread. There's Rocker critizing a player he's never seen play in this league . Hypocrisy at it's best!
I loved it when Rocker criticized Montero last year, a player he'd never seen play in this league. Well he sure did prove him wrong.
.. I am latvian - 2nd generation... i will find out how to pronounce this name..
Whoever he is, I guarantee you he's better than Nick Garcia
Ha, I already thought of a chant for him...
Oh, you new Latvian guy!
We can't say your name, nor will we try!
You were the only one, up for minimum cash!
So you came to our house, to save our ass!
