He has been released and according to John Molinaro Conway will back up in Columbus
Once Conway was training with TFC the writing was on the wall. Conway will be a solid, experienced backup in case of injury. Good luck to Edwards as he had some memorable moments during his tenure with the Reds...
Big thanks go out to his service for the team, it's too bad he'll probably be best remembered for the 0-5 loss in NJ last year.
for some reason he always rubbed me as being a bit arrogant, good luck ot him tho
Unless Conway is cheaper, where is the logic in this?
Could we not have moved Edwards for any kind of pick?? nobody wants a young American GK??
according to edwards,he does not get along with pricky ...wow thats a shocker.
at this rate we wont have anybody left by game three..

Edwards was a solid backup. I'm sorry to see him go and wish him the best of luck.
I'm not familiar with Conway, so I'll reserve judgement for his first appearance.
oh man, does remember that Conway was suspended for drugs?
Conway and Parke tested positive for androstatriendione (ATD) and boldenone metabolites, two banned performance enhancing substances, after taking an over the counter supplement they purchased at The Vitamin Shoppe.
not exactly crack.
i liked edwards and thought he probably deserved more of a shot in this league.. not in front of Frei tho... he's probably better off being released. He can hook up with any number of US teams who could use a cheap domestic keeper. If he can't find work he should join an NASL team and get a full season in as a starter (like Jay Nolly in Vanny).
Anyhow, not a big deal really.
I think this is a bit of sideways move but eh. Conway has plenty of experience in MLS, even if he's erratic at times.
Good luck in your career, Edwards.
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
After reading his interview, I feel terrible for him. He tries to keep it in but knows that releasing him one day before a season's start is bad business.

edwards had that west-coast, laid-back demeanor about him. i thought he had a world of talent but i like what preki is doing in getting a squad with a similar personality. its like he's playing Football Manager 2010
Meh, Edwards always seemed kind of languid and lazy to me. I thought he put on a few performances that were pretty good, but I also don't think he really stood out at all.
Best of luck to him.

...and Edwards always looked slightly pudgy.
Jon Conway was awesome in Grease!

Whoops! That's Jeff Conaway...my bad!
Carry on.
Have you seen the Jon Conway fan club site?

"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports
I thought Edwards covered nicely for Frei last year... I don't get the move, but there must be something we dont see on the surface.
According to the interview, Preki didn't feel that there was a place for Eddy with the team. They also didn't apparently see eye to eye.
edwards is not a big loss imo, i never heard of conway untill now... im sure he wont be a big loss either when hes released next season...
