Default Pre -Match: TORONTO FC VS Columbus Crew

This Saturday March 27th at 4pm et.

The season is on and this is our first game of the year. I know Mo isn't our best manager but were going to find out what kind of team we will have pretty soon. I hope we can change things around or were in for a long and depressing season.

It's going to be a tight game, Columbus have been playing well at the end of last season but they didn't win the cup , there pre-season has not been bad either.

My guess on the score is 1-1. Frei will shine like never before!!

I honestly have no idea what to expect on Saturday because we have yet to see TFC's actual starting lineup play together on a consistent basis. I hope the pre-season was not an accurate indication of what can be expected due to the constant roster shuffling, otherwise 1-1 might be very optimistic...

    2-0 Columbus

Shitlicker wins a bullshit PK. Herrera/Renteria makes Garcia look stupid and scores. Frei will make about 5 amazing saves

Difference between Columbus and TFC will again be cohesion between teammates. (and Shitlicker's diving antics)

It's going to feel good laying on some hate on Shitlicker again

Kolumbus have been in full season mode the last few weeks... can't say that we are even close to as prepared. Hopefully we have another MLS style even game on saturday and can squeek out a tie.

Considering what we have witnessed thus far, a draw would be a pleasant surprise and somewhat encouraging...

I like that we have a defensive minded coach, a solid GK and are opening up on the road. That proverbial play for the draw on the road mentality might work.

Outside of that, I don't know what to expect.

    and this annoys me lol

esp that 3-2 defeat last year at crew stadium. you know, when crew made a come back from 2-1 i think and Big Bird scored in injury time. that one hurt

generally speaking, we always win just because we don't have to live in Columbus.

I think it'll take a small miracle for us to get points out of this game. I'm hoping for a nil-nil draw, because that's about our only hope.

i have slight hope in a miracle longball pass that DeRo will somehow get onto, beat Chad Marshall and Hesmer for goal

I can't believe I'm hoping for a 0-0 draw as well but I can't expect much more after what I've seen so far.

I'm feeling an 0-2 loss, but we are in better defensive shape this year, so maybe 0-1.

P.S. Did we have our annual, guess-TFC's record-at-the-end-of-the-season contest yet?

I think a 0-0 draw is the best thing we can hope for, and even that seems unrealistic. I hope to not be blown out too much. Hell, let's shoot for the moon and hope we somehow manage to put the ball into the net (in a close 2-1 loss).

I'm sensing an 0-1 loss. I don't know about the PK. I think the chances are 50-50 for how Columbus will score. Will Garcia get burned by speed, as Yohan suggests? Or will Frei bobble a high corner kick, while the other 5 TFC players standing close by, decide to wait for the replay on the scoreboard to decide what they maybe should have done in response?

Nobody prediciting a red card for TFC? How about a panic signing or two this week, that look great now but that we will soon regret? (The new CBA places even more premium on intelligent management, as it will be harder to dump players w/o affecting the cap in a big way.)

Who the hell knows. As mentioned elsewhere, everything is set up so we could be pleasantly suprised by many things that could possibly happen in Columbus. Not holding my breath though.

I don't think so. He said he's targetting the home opener, but it might be May instead.

We have a championship winning quality side. This match should be a walk in the park, 3-0 TFC.

    Mo is that you?

I think we're going to be trounced tbh. The way we played in the preseason combined with the KKKrews loss in the CCCL, they will be out to prove that they have a team right away and we will be deflated quickly.

Now with that being said, I am still hoping and cheering for a win

2-1 loss at best, but 3-1 or 3-0 more likely.

Shit all you want on Columbus, they've got a good team over there and they're playing like it.

    However, with that said:
