there are going to be more drafts in MLS than all the major sports:
expansion draft, superdraft, re-entry draft.
why not ask about the min. salary and the salary cap? forget about why it took so long.
i know.. the first journalist of the three (Wahl) is the only one to ask a substantive question about the details.
they won't release details on salaries.....so why take questions.

I did. I can tell you for certain the players were willing to go through with it. Whether the owners had the balls to do it, I don't know.

They're only discussing generalities because the bigwigs in the room don't know the fine details well enough yet to discuss them on the fly.
They'll send out a detailed release within a few hours, I imagine.
You and I both knew absolute free agency was never going to be given...and the players were able to squeeze a whole lot more than the old deal, which in my opinion is what should have happened. I am thinking this is a good deal for the players and the owners should be happy. The single-entity system lives on unthreatened for them.
Garber says details on cap increase will come later.
