I would imagine it's a tentative deal, based on the players ratifying it through a vote

Better news would be that Mo did his fucking job and got us a forward, winger and defender.

Did anyone seriously think MLS was going to have a strike? I mean really go through with it and have a work stoppage?

MLS and union near 5-year deal

A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that Major League Soccer and its players are near agreement on a five-year contract that would avoid a strike scheduled for next week.
The deal was likely to be announced Saturday, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the announcement had not been made.
The MLS Players Union had said it would strike if an agreement wasn't reached before the league opener on March 25.
Negotiators began intensive talks Thursday in Washington, D.C.

I have this odd feeling of deja vu, but maybe it's just the statement we're all expecting at the start of the next season. Along with the annual scouting trip to brazil.

no...they would have never gone through with it..and mls knows it too...so this agreement is going to be very interesting

This post gets good value. Could have used it going into 2008....2009...and it's applicable this year too.

along with whether or not we have free agency concessions im curious to see what the cap and rosters will look like and whether there will be a scramble for teams to sign even more players

I disagree. The strike threat was credible. I'd wager the players got a lot of what they're looking for, not full free agency, but something a lot more interesting to them than the current system.
