    Post Today’s News, Tuesday , Jun.17

Good Morning, slow day for TFC news.

Canada(TFC) to play in Group C if it reaches CONCACAF Champions League

    THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

NEW YORK -- The Canadian representative will play in Group C at the inaugural CONCACAF Champions League -- if it can get by the champions from Nicaragua.

The three-team tournament to decide the Canadian champion features a double-round-robin showdown between the Vancouver Whitecaps, Toronto FC and the Montreal Impact. The team that emerges from the qualifier will play a home-and-home aggregate series against the Nicaraguan champions for the right to play in the CONCACAF Champions League.

The winning team will be joined by Mexico's Apertura champion Atlante, Olimpia or Marathon of Honduras and the winner between Trinidad's Joe Public and the New England Revolution.

The preliminary round's two legs are set for Aug. 26-Sept. 4. Group play will begin Sept. 16 and finish on Oct. 30, with the quarter-finals not scheduled until February 2008.

Guevara returns to TFC from duty

Amado Guevara arrives to TFC from international duty with Honduras

Amado Guevara is back with Toronto FC after missing four games on international duty with Honduras. The former MLS MVP returned to training at BMO Field on Monday.
Guevara played in World Cup Qualifying games against Puerto Rico, winning the first leg 4-0 in Honduras, and drawing 2-2 in the second leg on Saturday to take the tie 6-2 on aggregate. The win secures Honduras a place in the group stages of CONCACAF qualifying.
"It's great to see him back," said Toronto FC coach John Carver. "When your quality players come back it always gives you a boost. It's like a new signing because he has been away for a long time. He adds something to the squad and obviously it gives me something to think about when I'm picking the team for the weekend, but that's the sort of problem I want."
Carver will assess Guevara's fitness over the next 24 hours. "He looks fine so far. Today was a relatively light session because of the game on Saturday. It was mostly regeneration work today, but on Tuesday we'll do a bit more and find out how his legs are feeling after the travel and the games. I'll assess him then," explained Carver.

    ^^
"The Los Angeles Galaxy can't be stopped.
Well, at least that goes for an offense that has rattled off 14 goals in its past five league matches. Edson Buddle's hat-trick provided a boost for an offense that has been rolling despite not having Landon Donovan.

Winners of four of their last five, the Galaxy has a firm hold on the West lead and look like they have solved the defensive problems that plagued the squad earlier in the season. What remains to be seen is whether Los Angeles can beat the top teams in the East (the Galaxy don't have a win against a team with a winning record, and just one win against East competition).

The Galaxy check in at No. 3 in the new SBI MLS Power Rankings. Here is how the rest of the rankings shook out"

The Galaxy can be stopped....just put them against a team with a winning record. I can't believe they are ahead of us even though we beat them 2 games and they haven't beat a quality side this season. Biased reporting indeed.

ya i checked already.. not listed on USL Live either.
since it's not being shown on TV in either Vanny or MTL, it's highly unlikely there's a web stream, since the web streams just take from the TV
