Every year we look forward with hope. Then the first preseason game comes. And we discover that TFC's defense is total garbage once again.

If it's only pre-season, how come the RBs looked like a much better team?

    Here's my take:

    (1) We have to recognize that half of the team were trialists looking for a job. However, the regulars hardly looked threatening.

    (2) The players looked tired. Maybe over-training by Preki? We may be wishing that Winsper was still with TFC soon.

    (3) Angel looked fantastic. He seems to have shrugged off the old/slow/fatigued look he had last season and was easily both the best and most energetic man on the pitch.

    (4) De Guzman had some really nice plays, but made some really boneheaded decisions, completed by the sending off. He doesn't look like DP material, for sure.

    (5) The defense? Not up to professional quality. We need a retooling really badly, there. Nick Garcia is plain terrible.

    (6) The players are supposedly playing a system, but they weren't keeping their shape. The defense consistently played too far up and were beat several times.

    (7) Preki's got a lot of work cut out for him if this team is going to look at all competitive this year.

Nice to know the dunce cap is still firmly on our heads. I hope that Preki has seen what he needs to see. Let's see what Charleston brings.

Think it's time to retire that "Red Bulls Are Shite" slogan, boys. They've beaten us 9-0 in the last two encounters.

We have to stop making excuses for this teams failures. I know Preseason is a tune up but seriously todays game just made us look like this squad main core has no talent and even the prospects failed to deliver..

KD wanna teach me how to play golf . Im gonna need some type of distraction better then watching this club burn in the pits of hell.

On a side note, I will be doing a golf tournement in 2011 for supporters/friends.
I will see about getting one together this year but it might be too late at this point.

LLJJ -- fricking 4 to fricking 0, NY won.

By most stats (possession %, shots, corners, getting pwned, having a plan, playing like a team) the tally was actually much worse than that...

Good point gtaguy. Or maybe 8 cylinders, running with minimal oxygen & fuel, attached to 8 different camshafts & 8 different crankshafts, firing at random uncoordinated intervals, & pulling the doomed vehicle in 8 different directions....

Red card was to JDG, for a very late challenge from behind on Angel. JDG gave the ball away to Angel with an awful pass to nowhere, and then tried to make up for it with a stupid tackle from his back. I think JDG already had a yellow from earlier, but this was a straight red.

So it's basically business as usual for us, isn't it? I still think Preki is the right man for us, but it's a tall order to change the overall mentality of the team in a few months. Hopefully it won't take all season to fix all the issues, though.

the question is .....Is Preki in Moes' back pocket or willing to risk changes? because if this is just Moes last kick of the can.....maybe a strike(sic) would be a blessing, some time for all involved to decide wether or not they are going to seriously commit to being a long term franchise of strength and get serious instead of playing at look at me I'm a soccer executive. TFC Represent your sweater and City ..... your supporters show you how every game.....we deserve better
