Didn't Dikov train with us last year (or 2 years ago) only to end up back in England?

37 seems really old...but hey - ball goes in the net and I'm all good with him.

lol... Dickov again? I can't imagine he's improved with age.

Yeah, last year...he wanted to sign here but couldn't because of the turf.

    37 ? are you kidding me ?
With all the available young players around the world, we still look at these granpas who are looking for a paycheck.
Where are our scouting people? hibernating for the winter?

    I agree with you, but...

If Dickov can put the ball in the net - I don't care if he's 50... lol

Jeff Cunningham 17-goals / 34 years old won the golden boot...

If Dickov can put the ball in the net - then I'm good with him...

O'Brien White playing with him, could be a mentor type thing...

    Carts...

The average age of league MVPs in the MLS is 34.

ok but let's acknowledge MLS has changed over time. The likelihood of someone doing it again like Mojo did @ 39 are extremely unlikely.

I don't really care about age at this point. This is the MLS. A decent Championship player can do quite well in the MLS - even this late in his career.

to me it depends on price and contract. If Dickov comes at a decent price then do it. We have lots of young players on this team, so to have one old geezer isn't gonna hurt.. unless his salary is high (like 200-300K or something). But if he comes in for Dichio money then it can't hurt.

I don't put Dickov as same talent level as many of geezer MLS MVPs...

^Neither do I, only pointing out that in this league age isn't a factor. Would I give him a long term contract? No. But he'll do the job until someone else comes along...that's the nature of our league.

I have no problem with a 37 yr. old former Manchester City striker who is trying to extend his career in the MLS. I think if Dickov earns a spot on TFC for the right price and can provide a spark than it can only benefit the club this season...

Exactly. There is absolutely nothing to lose by bringing him into training camp to see where he is at.

If he produces, I couldn't care less about money he gets or anything.

Our problem anyway hasnt been scoring goals, its been our defense and my favourite hole on the club, our wide players.

normally i wouldn't mind this, however, we've had enough of revolving door policy of players

for a Dickov, i'd rather see similar cdn/us striker who can give 5-7 goals per year who wouldn't retire next year. (i don't see dickov scoring more than 6-7...)

Agreed. I rather see them pick up a young striker, who may not start a whole lot but will be with the team a few years than somebody who is going to be gone at the end of the year.

At 37 I can only see him having the role of a sub coming on in the 70th min or so. Maybe a sub for Gerba or something since he can't last a full 90.

    I'll do you one better.....

Could not Ali Gerba, O'Brien White and Chad Barrett learn a lot from a quality professional like this no mater what happens??

I can't see him moving to Canada to be a sub...he's got other offers in England.
