Where are you hearing this from? If true, what else could it be about? Length of contract?

not about money? well he def will make more here than in the pro league, the only thing that could be an issue might be an opt out clause cuz ultimately every trini wants to play in england like yorke did, but at 28 thats a tough move to make, i really hope we can get him tho i think he'd fit in well with us

Don't worry, Mo Johnston already set us up for the letdown of no new signings. During the press conference on Wednesday he said they should be signed by Saturday, or maybe Monday.

I'm sure by Sunday the deadline will move again.

Id take Emilio on this team. He would do a lot for us I think but it seems that P.U. is going to get him, we need a veteran striker to pair with Barrett and OBW. If we get him scoring 10-15 a year like DeRo, and Barrett is capable of putting in around 10 goals, I think we have a pretty solid offense. Id take him over Baptiste as it stands right now because Emilio is a proven scorer in the league, but Ill take what I can get right now...

The MLS head office must be an administrative nightmare. How long will it take for an official announcement regarding the new signings?

It looks like Baptiste has been invited to trial with Ipswich Town in June...

hence my earlier post about an opt out clause, i think he probably wants to play here this season and impress enough to jump to england, which would be great for us this year

"Not just in Toronto" -- so I guess that means SOMEONE was signed in Toronto today? Nothing definite announced yet. (Latvian websites, google translated, & reported on Cdn soccer blogs, doesn't count as official IMO.)

Of course the difference being other teams build their roster and then change it around as need be. Or try to improve on an existing core.

TFC seems to always be continually building its squad up.

Buts its nice to know the FO sees that the fans aren't happy with the shit way its running the team.

Little misleading if you ask me. Sure other teams are making moves but our turnover has been huge, and occurring very close to the season.

We already say the end product of this in years 1 and 2 (wasted games).

I find it a bit insulting to the fans.

Is it really smart to be sarcastically making fun of your fanbase? How arrogant is this guy?

Oh well, I think it's usually pretty funny. I think there are bigger problems than what Paul B. writes on his Twitter. And they know that too.

Man, you really are an MLSE sycophant.

I'm a big fan of sarcastic humour and have seen Paul Beirne's internet postings before. But sometimes Paul Beirne comes across as smug and insulting. I guess hanging around the arrogant MLSE culture or entitlement can do that to a person.

I guess that is true, But what does MLSE have to be Smug and arrogant about other than the most obvouis that there properties seem to make a lot of money. Yet at the same time there sport propeties are horrible on the field.

Well as it stands today, Baptiste is officially out of contention to play for TFC. Big contract hurdles. I really hope something gets done but looks like a far cry now. I guess Dickov is our best bet so far. Let me see if I can dig out some more info

allocation money probably. Philly got lots of allocation money for being an expansion team and have really thrown it around in deals. I also suspect their cap hit is lower right now with the GA players they drafted. Expansion teams always have these advantages.

So we need allocation money now to sign 30 year old USL players?

I think this guy is good, expensive? I think not.

Cann knows TFC needs him, he's Canadian, is probably asking for more $$$ than TFC wants to pay him

...an additional advantage being a certain number of priority claims on USL players. Seattle had unlimited right of first refusal on all USL players without prior MLS claim; previous expansion teams had ten discovery claims for USL players...and I don't know how many the Union were allotted.

    Edit: like he said ^x2

Except, with 19 International spots this year, TFC doesn't really need him as a Canadian...as a defender, maybe...
