Toronto FC selects Nane Joseph, midfielder Old Dominion
Can't believe they didn't pick Julien Edwards. Not impressed.
here's a story on joseph.. he's from cameroon.

In the instance of Julien Edwards being Canadain mabye Toronto feels he will not get selected because he would take up a import spot if picked by any of the other MLS teams and thus would be available to them anyways.

I'm kind of torn about today.
On one hand I am glad that Mo did not feel that he had to trade up for trades sake. Sometimes you go to a party and don't have a good time. That's how it is. Good for him that he did not give into temptation.
On the other hand we did not take advantage of an opportunity today to improve the club (whether that is improvement by addition or improvement by subtraction). We essentially have one less opportunity between now and the start of the season to address the issues we have. Whether that is due to Mo or that nothing of value was on offer is a question I hope Sean Keay of mlsdraft.net can answer this for us when he gets back from Philly.
I think Duane @ the 24th minute is absolutely right. I would be shocked if either of these two guys ever suit up for us.
I'd be less shocked if our defender does, but the Midfielder will not make the cut when the roster is finalized.
We wasted our 2nd pick because we could.

^^^ Seems very well-spoken for a 17-year old. Hope he plays as well as he talks
Look at that; the media, here, is already reaching out to him.
Love my city.
Ive's graded the teams http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns...ot=mls&cc=5901 We get a big 'ol F.
Wow he seems very confident, not cocky though. I'll be interested to see how he does in training/pre season.
Mo obviously decided that what other clubs wanted for their draft picks was too much.
Steven Sandor reported that Preki is largely happy with the squad. I tend to agree. We just need a few additions, not blowing up the whole squad. A little bit of continuity (for once) will help a lot.
What we need to add is veteran players, particularly in back and in front, not "future gems in the rough." By limiting what we got to what we could get for free is probably the best strategy. A few trades or discovery signings could be all it takes to make the team successful.
The best news is that Mo didn't deal for the sake of dealing. It shows that he is letting Preki decide the squad, as Mo's first instinct is to wheel and deal.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
