According to Ives, MLS have signed 3 young Colombian defenders. Pablo Escobar, Manuel Noriega and Tony Montana I think....

We NEED Pablo Escobar
Wow that wasn't even funny.
Looking for Wiki linksAmerica De Cali central defender Edward Zea, Deportivo Cali central defender Pablo Escobar and Deportes Quindio central defender Hanyer Mosquera have been signed by MLS and have already had discovery claims placed on them by various MLS teams, including the Philadelphia Union, sources with knowledge of the signings told SBI on Monday.

how does this work? the league signs them and then they play where?
A bit simplified this, but the teams usually find the players, then the league (which holds all contracts) allocates the players to the teams based on who found them.
Tony Montana was Cuban.
When I heard the name Pablo Escobar I just thought his name sounds badass...now whether we need him or not depends if he can play...but yes I agree with above...if MLS signed them..they signed them on behalf of a team...would be nice to know who NOW !!!
When I hear Escobar and Columbia. I think of the guy that scored the own goal in 1994 world cup. He was shot in the streets for it.
Except Pablo Escobar had nothing to do with footy. Pablo Escobar was probably the largest drug trafficker in human history. I recall reading once that Pablo Escobar before he was assassinated (justifiably in my opinion) was probably one of the five richest men on earth.
A picture of Pablo Escobar (The footballer)
Although now that I think about it, the Colombian player killed after WC '94 was Andres Escobar, so I guess word association would come into play. My bad.
I'd be very happy if any of these three turned out to be another Wilman Conde or Jhon Kennedy Hurtado
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Dude first of Colombia is spelled with two o's not a u and that is bullshit about
the colombian player .
He was killed becuase he owed money to very dangerous people and was avoiding to pay back the money. It so happened that he entered a club and those very same ppl were there and they decided to collect ..
It was a coincidence that it happened after the world cup.....
these three colombians are solid players and should make any defence stronger... The two guys from cali most likely are being sold becuase the club is in serious financial crisis . Best part about them is they are all quite young
Man, I need to get HBO. One of the requests I put in was for Season 1 of Entourage. Right now, it seems like the only thing I get are the same 3 episodes of Entourage on MuchMore...I have a less than basic cable package in Regina, where the basic cable package sucks already...
