I hope they remember to add washers to the bolts that will hold it together.

hey, since you're here.... are you guys planning to add any other washrooms or will everyone in the north be encouraged to use the food building for their relief?

Wait a minute. So it is going to be set-up for next year? For some reason, I had thought it would be up for 2011. I wonder when we get dibs at seats.

I don't know is it? And yes you did say something about it being unlikely I will search this forum to quote you but I wouldn't bet against my memory. There was regulations and scoreboard hindrances etc being discussed, why the change of heart?

Just the change of heart forgive my slip of tongue it seemed highly unlikely based upon what you had previously stated.

"My comments on expansion into the north end have been tempered with a "likely scenario" perspective. When MLSEL is looking at expansion, we need to take some factors into account:
    1) we do not own the building and will probably never own the building because of its location on Ex Place. all the property there belongs to the city. So if we invest in the building it has to have some sort of payback...and remember we're not adding top price seats. Add to that the payback has to come over 19 games (or so) a year. Just like if you are renting a house, you'd think long and hard before renovating.
    2) the north patio (and the north limit to the property) is quite tight. When I said we need it for fire egress I was referring to a worst case scenario (thats how the fire marshall looks at it, and rightly so.) for us the worst case is a disaster during a Full House event (rock concert with over 10,000 people on the field). As I understand it all patrons need 2 exit opportunities, and the building needs to be able to evacuate in a number of minutes. Given all of that, expanding on the north is not impossible, just not practical.

I'll reserve comment on the breadth of my responsibilities. I know what I do for a living. Funny how others feel they can comment. Gotta go. I have to call the infrastructure department."

I am neither for nor aganist the expansion i personally don't care.. If last season was anything to go by it will just mean more empty seats. I don't remember a single MLS game that BMO was more than 85% full, which is very good in terms of MLS attendances but will people keep coming to watch a team that has a main focus of making money? The fourth season is upon on us the honeymoon is over, time will tell I say the attendances will drop.

Wasn't one of the reasons for keeping the beer patio was that it was a part of the sponsorship contract/partnership with Carlsberg?

I'm all for the expansion, if only they could get ride of those bar type buildings on the left and right of the northend. I would love it if stand identical to the south were implanted in the north.

Do you have a Charter drafted yet?

No, but I'm working on the logo - something involving a cattle shoot , a TFC flag, and a beer can....

How many people are going to buy seasons this year and take up residence in the patio.. I have a feeling I'm going to be one of them.

You got me...I think I was speaking from a perspective of the type of installation that we had for the RM game (which was scaffolding and had a big footprint... Can't rightly remember exactly what the hell I was thinking.

I had forgotten that post though...so thanks for finding it.

^PB, if we're playing "gotcha"...didn't you say earlier in this thread that the patio was being "retained"?

    Don't even go there.

Hillsborough was the fault of the coppers at the stadium and then it was covered up by the cops and the government. Nothing really to do with the facility as such (such as it was back then).

    OK. Thanks.

(If I may be allowed to mutter something under my breath but still maintain an air of civility, understanding and resignation at the inevitablity of this...I don't think you've "retained" the beer patio if it's under the stand.)
