Kudos to all the people who got together and made that Banner that showed that TFC are the best fans in Toronto.

The CBC really blew the chance to illustrate the "passion of the game" and the love we have for Danny.

Knowing there was something special happening, my wife was watching at home and called me and said, "That was lame!?!"…my daughter text me from a bar…"Legendary FAIL!"

Are you kidding me? When I got home I fired up the PVR and was gutted!

Great job by the Supporters…the media here once again failed to show the real success of this franchise…the atmosphere…its really about all we have…

It should be noted that MLSE fail at these moments all the time…the Habs get it…

I was in 114 today. Big thanks to some guy named 'Steve' who posted his tickets on the exchange. Seriously thanks, and good luck on the mid-term.

I have video from underneath the banner. I will try to post it later.

When the banner came up at the end of the game I ran with it up the seats ( amazing that I didn't fall ) and held on when I reached the top. It was amazing. The first time it went up I couldn't see Dichio approach the stands. Thank you for the great videos.

It was an amazing day. I met Cummins later that night and he was glowing. He coached a great game, one of his best.

It was funny, being under the banner I did not find out what it said until 8 pm, at a bar.

I don't think it's fair to blame MLSE for the failures of CBC. MLSE/TFC did a heckuva lot to make this event possible including allowing us into the stadium on Friday night to prepare.

While it is possible that MLSE might not have stressed to CBC the scope and importance of what was to occur, to say "fail" to MLSE for this just is not right IMO.

That said, I too am very disappointed to hear that CBC missed the banner!

Funny you should say that. I made a comment the other day about how different the Wendel Clark and Patrick Roy jersey honouring ceremonies were. It was like night and day.

One of my best birthday weekends ever.
Holding the banner, knowing all the effort that was put into getting it made - what an awesome feeling.
What a team effort from everyone.
Proud to be part of a fantastic group.
    Can't wait for next year!

Man that worked out well. I cannot believe how easily is was raised - it certainly looked like you guys know what you were doing!

I only helped the one day and that was a battle. I tried for a second day but my wife didn't get ('Isn't it done yet? You were there for hours!') the size of the thing. She was at the game with me and when it went up her jaw dropped. She asked if that was the banner I was trying to help with over and over again. When I said yes, she just let out a 'holy shit'. Perhaps if there is another massive project, she will loosen up her reins a bit - she now knows that Almo and the RPB banner team are not screwing around.

I sure picked a good day to do the coin toss for the game. I was few feet from Danny when he came back from thanking supporters for banner and I am sure he had tears in his eyes. My wife told me she shook his hand when he went back to the bench. banner sure looked awesome from ground level.

    Fair enough Blizzard.

I have huge issues with how MLSE honour (or lack there of) special moments and this wasn't the thread to do it in.

In having said that…my guess is that DD's recognition on Saturday was a "supporter's driven" initiative and not an MLSE one.

I look forward to MLSE arranging next season's testimonial against QPR, WBA or PNE…someone might need to explain that one to Tom…

If they only give 10% to Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation...

The phrase "a portion of the proceeds..." comes to mind.

Oh well. The banner was still great and TFC did well to support the fans efforts to get it done.

and it even turns out that many of the FO people didn't know it was coming.
they knew we were planning 'something special' but didn't know exactly what.

They still have them. They tried to bring it out again earlier this year and this disaster ensued:
