Default Hypothetically - what if Carver was still here?

Just suppose John Carver had continued on as coach. How would think the team would have performed to this point?

About the same I'd suspect. It's refreshing that we don't have to hear ref complaints every press conference but I think the team is performing the same for both managers.

we'd have the same record but a coach who didn't have the personality of a wet dishcloth.

You know what? I was a big fan of Carver and I'm still skeptical over the story that prompted his departure. At the end of the day though, Cummins is the man in charge and any other discussion regarding Carver is moot. Its really hard to say where we;d be in the standing if Carver was still coaching. I'm inclined to believe we'd be in pretty much the same shape.I think most importantly is the fact that even though we have an uphill battle to get into the playoffs, recent news has been encouraging with regards to the general direction of the club.

Who knows. But Dichio would probably have played more...
On the other hand, he might've stuck with Barrett for longer...

I've noticed their lineup selections are about on par....

Furthermore BOTH have one of the stupidest philosophies I've ever seen:

    Lineup/tactics not working?
= "I KNOW, I JUST WON'T USE ANY OF MY SUBS!!!"

Agreed. What ifs really don't mean squat. I think we'd be in the same shape. One thing that is curious, though, is that we haven't lost with Toledo as a ref since Carver left. Coincidence? A bit too much for my skeptical mind.

The chances are that TFC's current position in the standings would be similar if Carver had remained head coach to this point. However, I think Cummins is less of a distraction to the club without the media circus that used to follow Carver around on a regular basis because of his post game tirades and off field antics. No one can doubt Chris Cummins' passion for his job after witnessing the emotion he displayed from the sidelines during the miracle in Montreal. As for his tactical approach, it has been questionable at times but will definitely improve over time...

I think the media scrums and post game interviews would be alot more entertaining.

No offence to CC, but his answers sound kinda redundant.

Carver and CC are both shit. The only difference is that Carver has an attitude problem. I just hope we can get a new coach for next season regardless if we make it to the playoffs or not.

    2 glaringly poor calls

first carding nana for a bullshite infraction that the rapids player clearly made more of than it was--i rewatched the game yesterday ( like to watch the reds win)

second the barrett card---the shirt pulling and pushing by the rapids player was a bit much and didnt get called
barrett deserved the card for desent but absolute nonsense that no card was given to colorado

so still not liking this ref although guevara sure was kissing his as*

    sorry a bit off topic

i said about the same -- i dont beleive manager right now is the difference its the players and i like cummins as coach
i have said before give him the job full time to give him more authority both on and off the pitch
the team is still growing and as much as we would all like it to happen this is not instant results its long term building

Carver never had an attitutde problem, and should still be the manager to day..i bet we would have at least 6 more points with him, CC is now the guy and deserves another year..we dont need a manager a year that will get us no where./

I can guarantee you we would've lost against Colorado at home if Carver was here. Guevara would've been benched because he went away to play an international game and Wynne would've been playing as a striker.

Don't forget Nana wouldn't have had a sniff under Carver.
