Exclamation GRASS UPDATE (from City Hall)

Just got a call from Donmin8r,

    WE'RE A GO

the Exhibition place board of directors has passed the motion.
The guys voted and only 1 person wasn't in favour of grass.
This means that Mayor David Miller, Depty Mayor Joey Pants
and the local counselors all voted pro grass.

Now it's going to city council for the next round of voting on Sept 30th.

Also, Danny Dichio and Adrian Serioux were there for the vote on behalf of the team.

    GREAT JOB!!!

(sorry if there's an discrepancies, I was writing this info down shorthand, but factually, it's accurate)

    Paul B. also tweeted this:

MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

    awesome news.

question is, Federal election coming up. Is being nice to Toronto really what federal politicians usually do to win votes?

Dear all the people involved in pushing for grass and players like JDG,

Thank you! Thank you for taking the long term success of this great club as seriously as we do every single day. This is all we're ever expected from you.

We will continue to do our part in the stands as always. Keep up the good work.

Well, considering all the poor on field results we have had to put up with... this (along with JDG) having certainly brightened things up!

    Thank goodness!

Tis a glorious day !!! I hope we see De Guz as soon as tomorrow's game !!
Not only is TFC gonna rock... but the Canadian National team will get a huge boost with some of their key players playing regularly together.

From what I've read here from people seemingly in the know, the hardest part was done today. Chances are very good I believe.

Better with each letter sent to your local councillor in support.

Let's not slack off until this thing is fully approved!

Very good, as long as nothing comes out of the woodwork and bite us in the *ss.

That's why I suggest that everyone try to get ahead of sports talk radio and call the Fan and AM640, etc. and talk this up as a great thing for Toronto and soccer enthusiasts accross the GTA.

Play up the increased community use at Lamport (bulble) and the new pitch that will be built in Etobicoke and that

MLSE is paying for everyhting 100%!

"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports
