Default Harry Kewell to New York - anybody ?

Got this from the Soccernet summer transfers page :

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns...b1pos1&cc=5901

I figure it qualifies for this forum as it is MLS in nature. He's not a true striker, so doesn't really replace Altidore (whenever he leaves for Valencia). Any tangible news on this anywhere ?

Outgoing: Peter Crouch (Portsmouth) may get bored of life in Fernando Torres' shadow and leave, with Scott Carson (Aston Villa) and John Arne-Riise (Newcastle) also tired of playing second-fiddle. The sale of Xabi Alonso (Juventus) could balance the books slightly, while Harry Kewell (New York) and Steve Finnan (Fulham) may also make way for new arrivals.

So long as he isn't coming here...bags of talent...bags of injuries...bags of baggage...

absolutely - if he stays on the pitch Liverpool doesn't win the CL on 'that night in Istanbul'.

Yha but halfway down the page

    SUNDERLAND

Outgoing: The sale of Michael Chopra (Cardiff City) could bring in some transfer funds, while Roy Keane may also look to get Andy Cole (Burnley) and Dwight Yorke (Sydney) off his wage bill. Liam Miller (Toronto) has failed to impress and may also be on the way, while interest in star striker Kenwyne Jones (Liverpool) has died down.

So all I would read into this list is teams that have been linked to the specific players.

The Liam Miller rumours just won't die?

Can't see how he'd fit into the picture here...with the midfield we "currently" have...

Kewell eh? I guess Reyna's days are numbered.

Kewell > Reyna. Both are about injury prone as well

It's entirely possible, Harry would look to the Australian league for a place to end it all. Makes more sense he would go there than come to MLS.

Didn't know he was a suicide risk...we don't need any of those here

Actually, I think Harry would make our team quite a bit more creative on the attack, and I dont think he'd do too badly in this league at all.

I'm wary of the injury prone on our field though.

Kewell would be a fantastic addition for New York, he would do very well in this league. There are obviously injury concerns, but he has the pace and skill to cause havoc for defenders in MLS. If this does indeed happen, then I will applaud the Bull Shite for the move.
