I agree with everything else but the bolded statement. I guess you missed his 2 headers on the net which other than Dichio's post shot and one of Gerba's strikes were our best shots at goal. I think he was actually one of the better players on the field (along with Wynne) tonight unlike some of the others who were just launching. It wasn't a specific players fault, it was a team failure.
fair comment. But for me , he encapsulates the frustration of this bloody team tho'. You can SEE the quality but something just isn't right.
I think his stats are 2 goals 1 assist in 20-odd matches. Not good enough, and FFS would he please PLAY to the bloody whistle?
I know, we can argue his stats forever, but in this instance I was mainly talking about your comment for this particular game. He was one of the better players on the field whether you like it or not. He had some great crosses and a couple of chances but just couldn't finish. Considering he was not a striker, for his position I think he did a great job which is tough to say about anyone after watching that game.
We didn't deserve progression to the group phase.
