Welcome to the Champions League – CONCACAF style.
Unlike its more glamorous European counterpart, there’s no Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka to be found here – Toronto fans will have to wait until next Friday for a first-hand glimpse of the Real Madrid pair – and fanciful visions of away trips to the San Siro and Old Trafford will have to be replaced with the hardened reality of another prospective journey to Crew Stadium in Columbus, should Toronto FC qualify for the group stage.

The weather. It has been on everybody's mind, weighing Toronto down like a wet blanket, blotting out the summer sun, drowning golf's Canadian Open last week and sapping the communal spirit in a garbage-strike-ridden city.
It has been one of those summers for Canada's largest metropolis, when there is nothing much good to say.

Why does Sportsnet use the headline "behind the eight ball"? That would mean we're about to win as we only have the eight ball left to sink.

It's not an uncommon expression. I'm guessing there's other pool balls in hypothetical play and TFC are snookered "behind the 8-Ball".

Missd the game yesterday, which was problably a good thing considering what the result was. I would have gone completely psycho had I watched that. I don't know how all you guys who watched stayed alive.

And I think the Sun is mocking us. They put out a hot bodied cutie, who's an Argo cheerleader, on the day after that soul sucking loss just to mess with our minds. Just my deluded, conspiracy theoried opinion.

    Just a little news note:

Kristian Jack just said on the footy show podcast that he knows for a fact that " MLSE will be making 3 million dollars on the Real Madrid game after all expenses"

This is major given that the FO have gone on about the high cost of bringing them in and the grass etc when justifying the high ticket prices.

    brutal.
