To all of you that "would never throw a beer at a player" but are quite happy to commend the guy/girl that did last night.
"you are all a bunch of remedial fuck-wits."
By no means am I saying Guadette isn't a jack-ass, but it's the ref's job to ensure players don't get away with the shit he pulled.
Throwing stuff at players is mindless idiocy, and the people that do it should be banned, plain and simple. They are ruining it for others. I went to a game with my 4yr old boy only to get a beer land inches away from him cause some idiot was pissed with Schelotto.
Fences will be put up soon enough, and BMO field will lose some of it's charm.
Thanks, that's great.
I don't think anyone is commending it. At all.
In fact, almost everyone in this thread is saying it is completely and utterly unacceptable. Just acknowledging that it was a damn good shot.

I don't condone throwing beer, but that toss was fucking mint. Sometimes its good to break the rules, regardless of the cost.
Yeah it was a great throw but it added almost a minute to that douchebag keepers antics. Taunting on the sideline/corner I won't chirp at but everything else is an excuse for the opposition and the ref to sway on one critical call. Beer throwing is bush league.
FORMER FULL TIME KOOL-AID DRINKER
My apologies...early and no morning coffee as yet. I know you are anti-beer throwing and not trying to say you are that at all. Since there was your topic and another one condeming the toss. I decided to change the title.
5th post for the top was merged into your thread....Should have been clear when I did it last night.

The following are all from page 3 of this thread:
kudos to the guy who nailed the keeper with that toss.I don't agree w/ the beer tossing, but the keeper deserved it. Well placed toss.I not really a fan of things being thrown at the players. but that goalie needed to be hit with something.Lol, perfectly awful yet beautifully great.IMHO comments like this will only give others the idea that it's ok to do this. This was the only time I was happy to see a beer flying at a player.
He wasted so much time on the pitch and was a big baby.
The one and Only time I was happy to see something hit a player.
Hey, as long as I hit him, and I'm a fair distance away, it's OK to throw my beer! Yay me!
does anyone here think that maybe the beer toss was part of the reason he got carded? look at it this way.. the ref put up with that shit from him for FAR TOO LONG. theres absolutely no denying that. so it could it have been a possibilty that the ref made the call just then because he felt the audience was going to be getting worse. wasnt it within the same couple of minutes that he got hit with the beer/carded?
You have seen an increase in yellow shirts and don't be surprised if you see a net....and why?? for a couple of idiots. In the end the entire supporters section will suffer.
I didn't see the beer hit him but when I heard the roar from the crowd I thought it was because he had gotten a card. He had already wasted a lot of time by then, but the ref waited at least another minute before giving him the card. He probably didn't want to penalize a player who was just hit by a beer.
That goalie deserved all the verbal abuse in the world, but beer throwing is wrong. Sorry I missed it...
There would be a bit of a silver lining with a net.
The scalpers would drop their seats, and the people sitting there because it's cheap would move.
The "supporters" that are there only to be kewl and get loaded might leave too.
Kind of a blood letting of sorts for the south end.
They already have a net - they use it for the lacrosse games at both the north and south ends.
You might see it up at the Real Madrid game. There will be a few hundred million dollars worth of players running about.
WAS this the guy who's cousin died cuz he said something about running out?
This is MLSE's fault. They need to follow Philadelphia's example: Have a supporters section for those who are members of RPB, U Sector, NEE members only. In this case, the section would be well policed, because OUR members respect the rules! It is those wannabee RPB that do stupid stuff like we saw last night
This would be a great chance for RPB executives to get in touch with MLSE and push for a supporters section of just members only so incidents like last night can be avoided!
We could make things a lot easier for MLSE if we had something similar like the Son's of Ben do!
I hate beer throwing and was very impressed to see it virtually eliminated for much of this season.
At the same time, it did miraculously cure his leg "injury."
I've got to believe that the nets are coming.
Wow. I'm not even angry anymore. I'm shocked.
I can't believe that people are actually complimenting the guy who threw a beer and hit a player on the field. And the praise is coming from Members and non-members alike.
Scary.
When the FO decides to put up a net or a fence I hope they cite the posts in this thread to back up their decision.
I can see it now.
Sometime in near future: Net/Fence goes up.
Sometime shortly after that: 10 threads in two days about how the supporters are being treated like caged animals and that the FO doesn't care about the atmosphere that is brought by the south end. Fuck MLSE/Mo/TFC/Secuirty guards in yellow/Gaudette.
Sometime shortly after that: a thread condemning the idiot that threw the beer and how the supporters shouldn't all be tarred by the same brush
Sometime shortly after that: the FO telling the RPB higher ups that their membership condoned the boneheads actions (citing this thread as proof) which made their decision easier.
In the parlance of immature internet speak (which is so appropriate for this thread):
EPIC FAIL (whatever the hell that means)
Unacceptable behavior last night. This should never be cheered. I was looking at the field is disbelief. When the ref stepped back the worst thoughts game to my mind, I thought for sure they were going to suspend the game.
On a side note someone in lower 112 tossed a golf ball looking object on the field during a corner and nobody said anything from that general area. It seems like we cannot even police ourselves.
No one is supporting it.
virtually every post speaks out against it, just some including myself, are discussing the accuracy of the toss. It was like a hole in one by someone that broke into a golfcourse and used stolen balls...it was totally wrong to do, in fact illegal...but the odds of it happening are unlikely...and no one will ever out do it or repeat it...so everyone please refrain from attempting.
Parlance of internet speak - yeah, you'd think you'd get away from that....on the INTERNET.
I think you are overblowing this issue a little here. People are not happy that someone threw a beer. People are happy that a cunt got what was coming to him. A lot of footballers deserve he be cracked in the face with how they play, because they cheat, and bring disrepute to game we would kill to play at their level. Last night one of those people were made to feel like a fool, and an asshole. That's as far as it goes. You're welcome to hate it but lets not assume people are cheering for a beer thrower...that was only situational
FYI... the OSU will be throwing shit at your goalie after what was done to Gaudette... don't complain afterward if they do. I saw some of their expressions last night and they were not to happy about it.
Yep, its all fun and games until you have to watch the game throw a net.
I've said it before, our support is immature…many here have a lot to learn…last night was frat boy stuff. We are lucky the league is as immature or the Club would be sanctioned for such ridiculous actions by "supporters".
To be honest I'm kind of embarrassed with the fact we have RPB members who think this is funny and part of being a supporter…fuckin' grow up or support a college football team…
