    Default Beer Throwing Incident

Ok, I'm against tossing anything onto the field.
    it's wrong.
    we all know it.

But...that toss that hit the goalie square...right on his shiney dome.
Incredible. From about 2/3 of the way up from 114...

With that said...it can never ever be topped....so that should be the end of people tossing things.

    Beers for drinking...not for throwing.

+1. That was something that I frowned upon and enjoyed at the same time.

I think people who throw beers at opposing players are douchebags.
HOWEVER, the douchbaggery exhibited by that goalie far exceeds that of the beer thrower in this instance.
    Good job anonymous alcohol abuser.

Default Enough with the beer tossing!

    IMO this is unacceptable!

.. and having the whole south end (and i'm sure the rest of the stadium) explode when a beer hit the keeper is only gonna encourage (and it did) others to do the same. this IMO is a chicken sh!t move, and anyone that throws anything that isn't a streamer on the pitch - let alone hitting a player - should be banned from BMO for life.. and i hope they are.

hey, i remember my first beer too.. what i don't remember was throwing it at someone.

    That keeper deserved alot worse.

The gloves thing is completely unacceptable. He should be suspended for that shit.

Kind of like the fan who ran onto the pitch after the game... Dude got a standing ovation from 127 as he was being escorted away by the cops.

Seriously, I was wondering why people were applauded the guy for being a total dunce.

Because it was felt that the ref deserved what nearly came to him. I applauded, I was kind of pissed off at the universe at the time, so yeah. For the record though, I definitely do not approve of attacking officials, or throwing beer.

I'm sorry but it's plain wrong to condone/applaud/justify this garbage.

Gaudette was a douche but throwing shit at players is a fucking joke.

I was embarrassed to be wearing the same jersey as the people applauding the twits who threw shit.

    This thread is a mistake

I agree in principle, but don't tell me you've never been caught up in the heat of the moment. The whole stadium was hissing and booing every time the keeper touched the ball, he was public enemy no. 1 at BMO for those 2 hours. Again, on principle I don't condone it, but I'm a hot-blooded person and I probably also would have applauded at the time had I been in the south end and seen what happened.

    Confirmed.

People have taken throwing things WAY overboard. However, in that specific situation (and in the future should a player excessively taunt us in the corner), maybe its not the worst thing in the world.

The other beers that were thrown randomly, because why? A defender cleared the ball? There was throw-in?

    Bad form.

Yeah, the beer-tossing has to end. It's stupid and I can't comprehend why someone would toss a beer on the pitch when they cost more than what I make in an hour...

That being said, though, the reason that particular beer toss was applauded was because the Islanders' goalie was a douchebag.

Then you're no better than the guy who threw it. Seriously....I get angry at games too but the thing that makes me an adult is the ability to control myself at a fucking soccer game.

Hey, like I said, I'm against beer-tossing. It's pure idiocy to throw something on the pitch, let alone something that expensive. It's just that the PR goalie was a huge douchebag, and I think the reason the beer toss was applauded was because it was figured he got what was coming to him. I would NEVER throw anything but a streamer on to the pitch and never have. I'm not a moron- but I'm an emotional person and at the time I'd have been happy to see a beer smack the PR goalie in the face. Most people at hockey games wouldn't run on to the ice and start a fight, but they still go nuts when two players go at it. Sort of the same, ish.

Throwing beer is wrong but the aim was so good, I think God threw that beer.

    I'll forgive him.....this time.

Remember the nets that they have up at Montreal behind the goal where their supporters stand?

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see that sort of thing soon at BMO if this sort of thing keeps happening.

Nets will happen. We have far too many douchebags in the south stands to be lucky enough for it not to happen. 3 seasons and they still don't get the message. Book it, it's done for sure.

    Idiots.

The nets in MTL also have to do with the seats being immediately behind the net...like standing in the first row you can grab the mesh from the goal.

But I would say MLSE would rather put up nets then lose out on all the beer sales.
