That's ridiculous dude. The only way people are going to know about stuff like this scarf is to be on these boards. It's not like there's an ad out in the Toronto Star "join RPB and you you too can buy this scarf, otherwise you'll never get your hands on one".

I understand your concern about not diluting the fan group with people who only want a scarf (or whatever), but seriously, don't get too far ahead of yourself in the process.

And what's the worst case scenario - a bunch of people pay the membership fee for the year and are never seen or heard of again and don't renew the following year. How is that bad for the RPB?

Or let's say they renew every year just to get RPB scraves etc and nothing else. Clearly they follow TFC or they wouldn't want or know about any of this stuff. And they must be on the boards regulalrly to know about ordering it. So if they are following TFC and wearing RPB gear in the process, how is that bad?

Hitcho, that's our name out there... RPB might not mean something to some people but it does to us. There are alot of people that put in alot of work for the group... from the tailgate team, to the roadtrips and banners teams... accepting every joe dick and harry that wants in the group just to buy a scarf is a recipe for failure... we've seen this before during the first year when people were complaining because their scarf wasn't delivered on time... well guess fucking what? we all do this as volunteer work... noone here gets paid for the work that we do... having people become members just cause they want a scarf or merchandise is not what a supporters group is about... What if the idiots that threw the flares in 111 were wearing RPB scarves just becuase they wanted to be members and get merch? That's our name out there... We are responsible for the actions of our members... To answer your question:

How bad do you think it would have been if the Flare guys from 111 were wearing RPB scarves? Guess what the media would have said? and guess what my boss and all my co-workers would have thought of my after work activities? There is a price for everything... As much as I want merch as a keep sake of what happened, I agree with you totally. And though I will most likely join at some point.
