    is this just speculative pricing?

though 10% off isn't a huge discount, i'm openly offering it to anyone who wants to attend this game, that way atleast ML$E gets 10% less.

Then again, I sometimes wonder if they build the 10% into the price, then shave it back off

I read about the DC game in the Star yesterday, as for the Toronto prices, I haven't seen anything mentioning specifics yet.

yeah and how many seats does RFK hold? 50K? Of course they can charge less, they can make the difference up in volume, we can't at BMO.

you know.... without a solid source, it's just speculation and should be closed.

Ticket information for the Real Madrid game will be released Monday, June 8; however, Toronto FC season-seat holders and members of both the Gold and Red waiting lists will each have an advanced window with which to purchase tickets at a special loyalty price. Information regarding date and time of each pre-sale window will be sent directly to these groups.
just heard what the source might be. we'll see how it pans out.

    They're paying from scratch.

We've already paid as part of the season ticket costs.

    I've already paid $110 towards a friendly.

Not that this has anything to do with the game here, just to point it out, the DCU-RM game is being played at Fedex Field which seats 91,704, so they can afford to offer up $50.00.

Ask your rep if you can "top up" the friendly you've already paid for and get a Real ticket?

If he says no ask to speak to his boss…

Last year my tickets for Pachuca were $120 bucks. I'm am 100% sure that it costs a bag of pucks to bring Pachuca compared to Real Madrid. So what does that mean? that I should pay more for Real Madrid? well then, MLSE, you OWE ME MONEY FOR THE PACHUCA GAME. The argument goes both ways.

I got ripped off last year, and they could've made up for it this year. But intstead, they try and rip me off again.

I'm not aiming this post at you directly, just the idea of the game and the argument that it's justfiable to bend us over because we have a small stadium.

I have no interest in supporting in any way shape or form this monumental and disrespectfull (to the players-see DeRos comments, the season ticketholders, and the supporters) cash grab.

I brought up the fact that, as part of my season ticket package I've paid for a friendl,y because quite often people are saying that it's okay to charge a bit extra because we have a small stadium.

I was just saying that TFC are sitting on 16,000 paid tickets for this already and now they're double charging. They aren't charging a bit extra.

    I hear ya Ole!

Of course its a cash grab…that was my point too.

If you said to them here's $50 keep the other friendly and give me Real…they'll tell us…no you can't do that. Bandits.

I see this whole thing…top class opponent/loyalty price thing blowing up in their faces…big time. What would BMO look like half empty for one of the biggest clubs in the world?

I'm going to wait until Monday…lets see the offer…

Even if MLSE did little to no advertising for it, I can't see this happening... there are loads of people in Toronto who would love to see Real Madrid play anyone, just like there were loads of people who bought tickets for the August 5th LA game in season one who weren't there to see TFC but to see Beckham.

A friendly was included in our package, against a team TBA, not a friendly against Real Madrid. They are well within their rights to option us what ever team they want to fulfill that paid ticket.

The $120 is the face value of the ticket if someone off of the street had purchased it. It's not what you paid for that ticket. At least not in the eyes of MLSE.

That's a valid point. In the eyes of MLSE I think it's around 60-65% of that. The example they use on their website is for Yellows. It says face is $46, season seat holder pays $28.

I think though that post you were replying to wasn't necesarily speaking the the actual amount paid, but assigning prices based on teams.

If it's understandable to pay extra for a club of Real Madrid stature, then conversley it would it not be understandable to get a credit for a club of Pachuca's stature

The idea I think we all were sold was that over time it all evens out. For every friendly with the Rochester Rhinos, there would be one with Real madrid. Just hang in there....be loyal...and we'll get a good one one day.

    Guess not.

I couldn't have said it better. That is exactly the point I was trying to make. It's not about "how" much I payed. It's about the fact that when it's Real Madrid, they reserve the right to make us pay for the entire game even though we already own tickets. But at the same time, they reserve the right to say we're giving you a game against a team most people have never heard of and we're not refunding you any money even though you actually payed for a team worth more.
