    Default Tailgating Solution #69

Ok, so you register or work with a charity and brewery.

You let the charity run the beer. Labatt's does this for several events in London, at our Shriners events bring a truck with draft and a guy to run the lines/etc.

You get 2 or 3 real trucks that do dogs/burgers etc.

You put up a tent. You have draws. You start early. You get a TV place with a big screen TV and lots of places rent cheap sound systems. You get Red Patch Dance pack, sell shirts, streamers etc.

Sounds hard? Nope I've organized a bunch of things like that.

Now about the Red Patch Dance Pak,..all sunshine girls invited...

The problem is that, being at the Ex, you'd need city permission. They might go along with it if the charity is compelling enough, but remember that the city gets a cut of beer sales @ BMO Field, so the economics would make them hesitate to approve that on any more than a one-off basis.

I frankly don't see why Shoeless before and after wouldn't work, except for the cost. U-Sector and the NEE both do pubs beforehand. Maybe the cost is the main factor...

When it comes to the playoffs they will change their minds and organize their own tailgate tent. When the memorial cup was in London, they realized quick that 10,000 tickets would not be enough. So up went the huge tent, beer, dogs, chicks, sponsors, pre and post game stuff. The place was jammed with a lineup even after 10 thousand left and went into the stadium for the game. Being in both places the big screens, the women servers, and the tent was far more fun than inside. Or at least better than sitting at home.

What should happen is to organise one major tailgate party for the 1st playoff game, home openers etc. and have one heck of a party. Use the organisation and their fav charity.

You do need an organization with structure though. An accountant, ad guy to do the press releases, some celebs to support the thing to draw media, no reason to shoot small. Then you set up your table in a corner and sell memberships/shirts/scarves, etc.
