Before Ashtone, there was Nana. This is one of many threads on him that you can find here.

Once upon a time, he was one of the most exciting players on the team. Many of us thought he was on the way to being our first homegrown star (or at least a regular). Or going to Europe.

It didn't work out, but he can still play. He did a nice job battling Hagglund on set pieces last night.

Life in the USL is not stable, and Nana turns 30 next year. That was maybe our last look at him last night. If so, farewell and godspeed, Nana. Gone but not forgotten.

If memory serves, he suffered a massive dip in form when he were dealing with some issues in his private life; he was never the same player after that, and were moved on accordingly.

Safe to say that the Canadian soccer system didn't give him the tools he needed to be successful. He was never able to grow his game enough past his natural ability.
He was a good ambassador for the club when he was here.

I often think Nana and Doneil Henry left TFC (and MLS) too early in their career. They both seemed to have promising careers that seemed to stall once they left.

Good luck to Nana and hopefully he can continue in the CPL for the next few years.

It's the only name I ever considered getting on a jersey.
Toronto 'til I die - but I think they're trying to kill me.
