Wynne out, Dichio back in training
Defender misses match with injury

Toronto FC will be without Marvell Wynne for the match against Chicago Fire at BMO Field on Saturday but Danny Dichio has recovered from illness. Wynne came off with an injury during the 1-0 win against Montreal Impact in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship on Wednesday and has been ruled out for the next week.
"Marvell has got a knock to the back of the leg," said Coach Chris Cummins. "It's just a contusion and he'll probably be out for about seven to 10 days."

Toronto — While blood sports may not be everyone's cup of tea, the hunt is on at BMO Field for the mythical "fox in the box," a phrase coined by former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry to describe his team's need to find someone to turn chances into goals.
Despite riding high at second place in the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference standings, Toronto FC are becoming wasteful in front of the goal.
Case in point was Wednesday night's Canadian Championship game against the Montreal Impact of the United Soccer Leagues.

Glut of recent missed chances forces coach to return to the basics

After winning by the narrowest of margins despite thoroughly dominating the Montreal Impact on Wednesday night, frustrated Toronto FC coach Chris Cummins said his squad needs to be "more clinical" finishing scoring chances.
To that end, Cummins yesterday offered striker Chad Barrett a do-over on his chances from the 1-0 victory to ensure he got them right.
"We didn't have enough time to replicate them all," Cummins said with a wry smile.

Toronto FC hasn't lost since its coach resigned last month, and the Chicago Fire are the only remaining unbeaten team in MLS.
Still, neither club has been happy with its results lately.
The Fire will be looking for a victory to snap a league-record streak of five consecutive draws Saturday, when they visit a Toronto FC team coming off back-to-back ties in MLS play.
Chicago has turned the momentum from an appearance in the Eastern Conference final against Columbus last year into a good start to 2009, but the club's strong play has not been paying off like the Fire (2-0-6) would hope in the standings. They're only third in the East despite being the league's lone team that has yet to lose.

This is an excellent idea... A Journalist of the Year award would be a nice touch to give a little respect and shout-out to a writer who covers the team well all season...
