Moreno had entered the game as a substitute in the 64th minute for United, which has not lost in five matches. Toronto has not lost in its last four.

Washington, D.C. (Sports Network) - Jaime Moreno converted a penalty kick deep into stoppage time to cap five-goal second half as D.C. United tied Toronto FC, 3-3, on Saturday in a clash of the top two teams in the Eastern Conference.
D.C. (4-1-4), which is undefeated in five straight matches, also got goals from Ange N'Silu and Chris Pontius to remain unbeaten in five games at RFK Stadium.
Toronto FC (3-2-4), which got two goals from Dwayne De Rosario, earned a result on the road for the third time in four matches this season.

Before last night's MLS match between D.C. United and Toronto FC, several hundred United supporters marched down East Capitol Street to bring attention to the club's need for a modern home facility. But one has to wonder whether United would ever, even in a new venue, be able to replicate a game as wacky as the one that unfolded later at RFK Stadium.
With three goals in a late six-minute span, including Jaime Moreno's penalty kick in added time, United and Toronto settled for a 3-3 tie before 15,652 spectators.

Morning. Hell of a game last night! I don't remember ever being as excited for a goal as the 2nd Dero goal. I'd just said (to my dog haha) after DC tied the game at 2, we'd see what kind of club TFC is. Hurt, tired, on the road, can they hang on for the tie? And BAM, goal. I don't care that they tied it in the end, TFC showed me something yesterday. And it was goooooood

tidbit in the second page .. Seems like they gave us a rumor as to who would be our friendly game against.. read below...

"United Notes: Negotiations will resume tomorrow concerning a potential friendly between United and Spanish power Real Madrid in August at FedEx Field, sources said. Real's second game on the preseason tour would likely be at Toronto. . . ."

some have said the tie feels like a loss.. but not to me.
yea, we were up 3-2 with minutes to play and lost it.. but I kinda felt like we were lucky to be up 3-2 given the pressure of DC at the start of the game and the end.
3-3 to me was a very reasonable, fair scoreline as DC played great in long stretches, but TFC played well in the middle portion.
It was like 2 different games combined into 1.

regardless of the play on the field, DC should just be pissed that they got a tie at home. We were pissed when we had to settle for a tie at home.
road points are so hard to come by in MLS.

Thornton is playing out of his mind this year. That is part of the reason.
Other than that, they have good role players who play well in the system. When you've only given up 3 goals in 9 games, you're doing something right.

Aside: Only 3 teams in the West have allowed more than 9 goals this year, compared to every team in the East.
